Velious Leveling Guide 15 - 25

OoT

This is one of my favorite places to go since the Undead here are good for players of any type. If you're a boxer you have a ton of undead available and they're easy to pull. Solo players can kite around the outskirts of the island or root rot an undead. There are also gargoyles that spawn here which drop Gargoyle Eyes that sell to a vendor for 8 - 10pp each!

Something to keep into mind about this location are the skeletons and gargoyles will attack each other. If no one is hunting here when you first arrive you'll usually find no gargoyles alive for this reason. After you clear the skeletons the gargoyles will start spawning. Keep in mind too the skeletons are highly social with each other. If you pull them too close together they'll gang up on you quick!

Here are a few more recommended locations for this level range if you don't like the OoT Undead!

OoT Undead (Field Killing) Boxer/Solo antisocial - Amazing XP; really crappy money

East Karana (Field Killing) Boxer/Solo semi social - Some of the best plat during this level range but you'll need to sell what you find

Lavastorm (Field Killing) Boxer/Group semi social - Very high risk for high reward. Imps agro randomly, mobs are extremely social and the respawn times in this zone are bonkers

South Karana (Field Killing) Solo/Boxer antisocial - The Aviaks in the southern part of South Karana by the Lake Rathe zoneline will offer a pretty good kiting spot for those looking to avoid other players.

Warsliks Woods (Field Killing) Solo/Group/Boxer antisocial - Very large zone with lots of opportunities.

Lake of Ill Omen (Field Killing) Solo/Boxer - Large zone with a pretty large level spread depending where you go. Will be easy to kite here and solo singles for those in search of a good location. You can also bind here for those looking to exile themselves!

Unrest (Dungeon Crawl) Group/Boxer extremely social - Honestly I never did this zone so there's a good chance you know far more than I do.

Velious Leveling Guide 25 - 35

There are a few new options for this level range once Velious hits, Crystal Caverns, Tower of Frozen Shadow, Great Divide and a few more. You'll probably see a few of these zones highly visited during this era as well as the old popular Kunark dungeons like City of Mist. Those looking to solo will want to do the Lavastorm Basilisks/Smokes or the field in Dreadlands.

If you are having trouble in this level range I highly recommend you stop XPing and farm some plat at some point. You should try to buy Velious Jewelry for your character and any other cheap upgrades you can get your hands on. These upgrades are absolutely massive for you at these levels and if you keep dying while trying to solo or are useless without a group - spend your time LFG farming!

Here are a few locations I can recommend: East Karana, Rathe Mountains, Giants outside Permafrost, OoT Cyclops

Crypt of Dalnir (Dungeon Crawl) antisocial zone - This zone has an amazing ZEM (Zone Experience Modifier) meaning it will give you more than average XP per kill making it great to level in. The mobs at the zone in are in the lower 30s and it gets progressively harder as you go. Bring a group with you or your own boxes as this zone is seldom traversed. Don't count on finding a group here.

Lake of Ill Omen (Soloers/Boxers/Groups/Kiters) - You have tons of room to kite + actual camps here. Can also work on your Howling Stones key via Jade Chokadai Prod

Crystal Caverns (Group/Boxer) semi-antisocial zone - This zone will calm down a bit in Luclin and even more in PoP, depending on your era you may or may not have trouble finding a group here. The zone is split into two areas, the orcs and their pit then the dungeon near the town.

Tower of Frozen Shadow (Dungeon Crawl) Groups/Boxers - Second Floor is a great place for this level range and I am told arguably the best. In order to go up different floors in the Tower of Frozen Shadow you'll need to first collect the key from the floor that you're on. I honestly am quite ignorant about the zone but if you're willing to learn how it works and group up here the XP is apparently quite rewarding.

Upper Guk (Dungeon Crawl) moderately antisocial/boxer - Great for boxers/groups, solo players I would recommend you find a better place!

Castle Mistmoore (Dungeon Crawl) group/antisocial/boxer - This location is a pretty nice dungeon crawl in this level range. Be careful going past the graveyard though unless you have out of group PL help. It can get messy quick past the GY as the mobs suddenly spike in level

Dreadlands - (Field Killing) Boxers/Groups/Kiters/Solo antisocial zone - **Come here 32/33+ only** This location is the one I most commonly find myself doing during these levels. The eastern end of Karnor's that faces the FV zoneline makes for a great location to camp and allows you to pull singles safely from the field. No real good loot drops here but the XP is nice, especially with a few in your group.

Velious Leveling Guide 35 - 45

If you're stuck soloing the best location to do so during this level range would be the Ocean of Tears Cyclops. These will give you good XP and great plat for your level. I'd also recommend this location for those boxing small groups. Lower Guk would be the most profitable and easiest dungeon you could do during this level range - if you're a boxer looking for a dungeon.

Those that group, well, you go where the group goes!

Temple of Droga (Dungeon Crawl) Group/Boxer - This zone is a difficult Kunark dungeon that is found just off Frontier Mountains. It's filled with Kunark Goblins which have a tendancy to run when low on health as well as heal their allies through walls. That aside there is some valuable loot you can get from hunting here.

City of Mist (Dungeon Crawl) Boxers/Groups social zone - This zone is great for this level range, simply amazing honestly for both boxers and groupers alike. The zone is pretty big and there are plenty of pickings to go around. There's some decent loot here too such as Ornate Rune Shield and Slimy Green Ring.

Tower of Frozen Shadow (Dungeon Crawl) Groups/Boxers - Some of the higher floors will offer you great EXP during this level range. This zone is a bit different compared to the usual zones out there. You'll need a required key to progress to each floor which takes awhile to get so if you plan on coming here be prepared for a long dungeon crawl.

Lower Guk (Dungeon Crawl/Camp) - Groups/Boxers antisocial zone - It's now a perfect time for you to learn camps like Mithril Runed Tunic, Shining Metallic Robes, Flowing Black Silk Sash, and the zone!

The Overthere (SF Ramp) Boxers/Groups/Kiters - On the south side of The Overthere there's a ramp that is pretty famous for grouping at. You have a ton of mobs to pull and it is relatively safe hunting here except at night when evil guards from the outpost patrol around and kill anyone they don't like. The loot here isn't the best but the XP isn't bad until you reach the low 30s.

Ocean of Tears Cyclops (Field Killing) - Groups/Boxers/Solo - This is one of my favorite locations for 35 - 42(45). The cyclops here are very easy, they don't hit very hard at all and they can drop some profitable loot. There's a rare chance for an ancient cyclops to spawn in the place of any other cyclops on the isle who drops Ring of the Ancients. The ring is used in the Jboots quest.

Karnor's Castle (Dungeon Crawl) Boxers/Groups antisocial zone - This zone can be a total nightmare if you plan to pull to a camp. As far as a dungeon crawl though, it is pretty standard of a zone. The ZEM is fairly good and the mobs here can be fairly squishy. They also commonly drop raw plat which makes up for the lack of vendor trash. Monks can do Karnor's Pipe here for their epic and casters can farm an Extended Range 3 focus off a nearby mob.

Velketor's Labyrinth - (Dungeon Crawl) Group/Boxer - The Icepaw family makes this zone pretty profitable to camp considering they drop Spider Fur Belt, Collar, Cloak fairly regularly, even the trash kobolds. Each of the named kobolds has their own loot table, some items good, some not so good. Lute of the Howler is the main item that stands out at the kobolds. Either way, you should be seeing a lot of bazaar sellables if you spend some time here.

Velious Leveling Guide 45 - 60

The home stretch! Velious adds quite a few high level zones - sadly I only know a few of them! Kael Drakkal is good for these levels but I don't know a thing about it outside of the RoF version. Other new Velious zones great for this level range are Dragon Necropolis, Velketor's Labyrinth and Siren's Grotto.

If you're looking to avoid people during this level range The Hole would offer you a great place to hunt.

Old Sebilis (Dungeon Crawl) - Boxers/Groups, social + antisocial zone - This is some of the best XP you can get in the game for Kunark the juggs also will make you rich. For 6 - 12 boxers I strongly recommend this zone as a dungeon crawl experience.

The whole right wing (where Disco 1 + 2 is) is great for lower level boxers/groups in here. The left wing is about the same level but I hate the slippery floor over there and it's much more of a nightmare to navigate than the disco area. The center area (Crypt) is generally always camped and isn't the best XP - mostly nameds.

The "underneath" part of old seb, juggs, myoconids, that's where the money/fun is at. Once you're 55+ you should venture down here and camp the King or protector/tolpumaj

Chardok (Dungeon Crawl) - Boxers/Groups, antisocial zone - This is a dungeon crawl type zone for boxers, can be lots of fun and quite profitable too.

Kael Drakkel (Dungeon Crawl) Social Zone - This is an endgame group zone in Velious. There are tons of frost giants throughout the zone along with other enemies - you'll actually be able to solo/box with low numbers better in this zone than most considering you can get a lot of single and double pulls. The enemies in this zone also drop unmade armor pieces for Thurgadin Group Armor.

Burning Woods (Field Killing) - Boxers/Groups/Kiters/Solo, social zone - great and wide open for kiters; not only that but this zone is a hotspot for people 50 - 54. If you are in this level range and here you ... here comes the double negative ... can't not find a group!

Skyfire Mountains (Solo Dragons) - Boxers/Kiters, social zone - good for kiters and the dragons also have a chance of dropping Kunark spells which can be very valuable

The Hole (Dungeon Crawl) - Boxers/Groups, antisocial zone Small boxers can do the elementals/rock golems which drop Loam Encrusted Gear. If the elementals and golems are a piece of cake for you and your group I recommend checking out the named that drops Idol of the Underking in the jail and the undead which are in the castle. The undead drop withered which sells for about the same as the loam gear does.

Howling Stones (Dungeon Crawl) - Boxers/Groups, antisocial zone. There are no set named spawn locations really in this zone either, they can spawn randomly throughout the wings. Also to correct a few mistakes on the internet Enshrouded Veil, Golden Bracer, Stein of Tears, Melodious Truncheon are all zone wide rare items, they don't drop off of nameds or out of any specific wing. I am 100% sure on this. Although the Truncheon is MUCH more common off golems than any other mob I have found.

South wing is the most profitable to farm because of Hand of the Reaper and Fingerbone Hoop.

Velketor's Labyrinth (Dungeon Crawl) Group/Boxer The Icepaw family makes this zone pretty profitable to camp considering they drop Spider Fur Belt, Collar, Cloak fairly regularly, even the trash kobolds. Each of the named kobolds has their own loot table, some items good, some not so good. Lute of the Howler is the main item that stands out at the kobolds. Either way, you should be seeing a lot of bazaar sellables if you spend some time here.

Western Wastes (Field Killing) Group/Boxer - Western Wastes probably isn't the best for XP but what it lacks for in XP it makes up for in drops! There are a lot of named dragons that wander around out here and some of them can be killed with 1 group fairly easily. These dragons drop some of the really rare Velious spells such as Burnout IV, Protection of the Glades and so on. You'll mostly be making plat here but you'll get some XP too!

Siren's Grotto (Dungeon Crawl) Group/Boxer Fellspine + lots of velious quest gems and Tradeskill gems. Both of which you can vendor for an insane amount of plat for how many drop- There are a few good camps in Siren's Grotto, one of the best would be Fellspine for his Spiked Seahorse Hide Belt. You'll be able to net a pretty penny for the belt for awhile to come. The zonewide ink that drops here is worth keeping to sell in the bazaar. Drums of the Beast, Sleeves of the Kelpmaidens, and other goodies drop here too!

Dragon Necropolis (Dungeon Crawl) Boxer/Antisocial zone - The Phase Spiders here are fairly easy to kill and they all have a chance of dropping a Phase Spider Carapace which you could sell or use. Also there is a named Phase Spider in the eastern part of the zone, Queen Raltaas. She is very hard and drops Queen's Carapace. In the southern part of the zone you have snakes which is where Vilefang is and then you also have the Chetari rats which drop a few semi valuable things depending on your economy.
