Kunark Leveling Guide 15 - 25 (Ocean of Tears Undead Isle)

OoT

This is one of my favorite places to go since the Undead here are good for players of any type. If you're a boxer you have a ton of undead available and they're easy to pull. Solo players can kite around the outskirts of the island or root rot an undead. There are also gargoyles that spawn here which drop Gargoyle Eyes that sell to a vendor for 8 - 10pp each!

Something to keep into mind about this location are the skeletons and gargoyles will attack each other. If no one is hunting here when you first arrive you'll usually find no gargoyles alive for this reason. After you clear the skeletons the gargoyles will start spawning. Keep in mind too the skeletons are highly social with each other. If you pull them too close together they'll gang up on you quick!

Here are a few more recommended locations for this level range if you don't like the OoT Undead!

Upper Guk (Dungeon Crawl) Group/Boxer Extremely Social - UGuk is one of the main dungeons for players during this level range. Much like Unrest it's going to be packed with groups, assuming that Classic is the current expansion.

OoT Undead (Field Killing) Boxer/Solo antisocial - Amazing XP; really crappy money

East Karana (Field Killing) Boxer/Solo semi social - Some of the best plat during this level range but you'll need to sell what you find

Lavastorm (Field Killing) Boxer/Group semi social - Very high risk for high reward. Imps agro randomly, mobs are extremely social and the respawn times in this zone are bonkers

South Karana (Field Killing) Solo/Boxer antisocial - The Aviaks in the southern part of South Karana by the Lake Rathe zoneline will offer a pretty good kiting spot for those looking to avoid other players.

Warsliks Woods (Field Killing) Solo/Group/Boxer antisocial - Very large zone with lots of opportunities.

Lake of Ill Omen (Field Killing) Solo/Boxer - Large zone with a pretty large level spread depending where you go. Will be easy to kite here and solo singles for those in search of a good location. You can also bind here for those looking to exile themselves!

Unrest (Dungeon Crawl) Group/Boxer extremely social - Great zone for grouping during this level range. There's going to be quite a few groups here if your server only has Classic EQ and no future X-pacs. This is basically the Go-to place if you're LFG and on Faydwer after Crushbone.

Kunark Leveling Guide 25 - 35

For the late 20s I recommend Crypt of Dalnir or City of Mist if you're LFG. If you would like to solo while LFG The Overthere is a great place to do so. Those that would like to avoid the crowds should stick to classic content during this level range. Castle Mistmoore and Runnyeye are two locations you can visit to avoid people.

Crypt of Dalnir (Dungeon Crawl) antisocial zone - This zone has an amazing ZEM (Zone Experience Modifier) meaning it will give you more than average XP per kill making it great to level in. The mobs at the zone in are in the lower 30s and it gets progressively harder as you go. Bring a group with you or your own boxes as this zone is seldom traversed. Don't count on finding a group here.

Lake of Ill Omen (Soloers/Boxers/Groups/Kiters) - You have tons of room to kite + actual camps here. Can also work on your Howling Stones key via Jade Chokadai Prod

Upper Guk (Dungeon Crawl) moderately antisocial/boxer - Great for boxers/groups, solo players I would recommend you find a better place!

Castle Mistmoore (Dungeon Crawl) group/antisocial/boxer - This location is a pretty nice dungeon crawl in this level range. Be careful going past the graveyard though unless you have out of group PL help. It can get messy quick past the GY as the mobs suddenly spike in level

The Overthere (SF Ramp) Boxers/Groups/Kiters - On the south side of The Overthere there's a ramp that is pretty famous for grouping at. You have a ton of mobs to pull and it is relatively safe hunting here except at night when evil guards from the outpost patrol around and kill anyone they don't like. The loot here isn't the best but the XP isn't bad until you reach the low 30s.

Dreadlands (Field Killing) Boxers/Groups/Kiters/Solo antisocial zone - My favorite location to kill in Dreadlands is just to the east of Karnor's Castle. The zoneline as well as the giant castle itself, the field that is between the zoneline to Firiona Vie and Karnor's Castle is primarily where I pull from. There is a huge level difference on the monsters out here, I think something like a level 10 spread but it is really easy going and good XP during this level range. You can always pull singles and you can pull them back far enough to where nothing will agro you while fighting. There is also plenty of room to kite.

Runnyeye (Dungeon Crawl) Boxers/Groups antisocial zone - This location will be great for those looking to be left alone during Kunark. Runnyeye can be a nightmare from wandering mobs and the level range mix if you're not prepared so it's usually avoided. If you can overcome this challenge the zone will most likely be all yours!

Frontier Mountains (Field Killing) Soloers/Groups moderately social zone - One of the many different zones added during the Kunark expansion, it offers a wide range of different camps.

Kunark Leveling Guide 35 - 45

These are some of the best levels during Kunark since all the fun zones start becoming available! Ocean of Tears is great if you wanna be antisocial, Lower Guk for a boxer, Dreadlands for a Kiter, Karnors, CoM, CT, LGuk and tons more dungeons for grouping... I mean honestly it was slim pickings before but stuff really starts to open up now.

Temple of Droga (Dungeon Crawl) Group/Boxer - This zone is a difficult Kunark dungeon that is found just off Frontier Mountains. It's filled with Kunark Goblins which have a tendancy to run when low on health as well as heal their allies through walls. That aside there is some valuable loot you can get from hunting here.

Cazic Thule (Dungeon Crawl/Camp) Groups/Boxers - Dark Forge Armor quests are done here. Lizard Scale Cloak - Lizard Scale Mantle - are a few good drops.

City of Mist (Dungeon Crawl) Boxers/Groups social zone - This zone is great for this level range, simply amazing honestly for both boxers and groupers alike. The zone is pretty big and there are plenty of pickings to go around. There's some decent loot here too such as Ornate Rune Shield and Slimy Green Ring.

Lower Guk (Dungeon Crawl/Camp) - Groups/Boxers antisocial zone - It's now a perfect time for you to learn camps like Mithril Runed Tunic, Shining Metallic Robes, Flowing Black Silk Sash, and the zone!

Ocean of Tears (Cyclops) - Groups/Boxers/Solo - This is one of my favorite locations for 35 - 42(45). The cyclops here are very easy, they don't hit very hard at all and they can drop some profitable loot. There's a rare chance for an ancient cyclops to spawn in the place of any other cyclops on the isle who drops Ring of the Ancients. The ring is used in the Jboots quest.

Karnor's Castle (Dungeon Crawl) Boxers/Groups antisocial zone - This zone can be a total nightmare if you plan to pull to a camp. As far as a dungeon crawl though, it is pretty standard of a zone. The ZEM is fairly good and the mobs here can be fairly squishy. They also commonly drop raw plat which makes up for the lack of vendor trash. Monks can do Karnor's Pipe here for their epic and casters can farm an Extended Range 3 focus off a nearby mob.

Dreadlands - (Mostly field killing) Boxers/Groups/Kiters/Solo, antisocial zone - My favorite location to kill in Dreadlands is just to the east of Karnor's Castle.

Castle Mistmoore (Dungeon Crawl) group/antisocial/boxer - This location is a pretty nice dungeon crawl in this level range. Be careful going past the graveyard though unless you have out of group PL help. It can get messy quick past the GY as the mobs suddenly spike in level. If you are reading this and nearing 40 you're on the high side and should avoid coming here. If you're in your low 30s you should be able to plow through this place unless you're really under geared.

Old Sebilis (Dungeon Crawl) - Boxers/Groups, social + antisocial zone - This is some of the best XP you can get in the game for Kunark the juggs also will make you rich. For 6 - 12 boxers I strongly recommend this zone as a dungeon crawl experience.

The whole right wing (where Disco 1 + 2 is) is great for lower level boxers/groups in here. The left wing is about the same as the disco area in both XP and loot. The center area (Crypt) is generally always camped and isn't the best XP - mostly nameds. You will also need a Bard or Rogue in order to pick the door for Crypt. Some loot you'll be interested in that drops from Old Seb is... Box of Nil Space, Cone of the Mystics, Froglok Bonecaster's Robe, Obulus Death Shroud, Hierophant's Cloak, Runebranded Girdle.

The "underneath" part of old seb, juggs, myoconids, that's where the money/fun is at. Once you're 55+ you should venture down here and camp the King or protector/tolpumaj

Kunark Leveling Guide 45 - 60

The home stretch! There's so much to do for group content I am going to exclude that in this tidbit. If you are a solo player OoT Cyclops is still a great location to do! Skyfire kiting isn't too shabby either but you have to dodge Talendor which is annoying. The entrance to Old Sebilis isn't too bad either for some classes. You can root rot the frogs fairly easily while LFG.

Chardok (Dungeon Crawl) - Boxers/Groups, antisocial zone - This is a dungeon crawl type zone for boxers and or groups. This zone is huge and there is a ton of different nameds and loot for you to get. The deeper you go into the zone to the north or south the harder it gets. At 60 the entrance area will be Light blue to you but most of the harder nameds that drop the best loot will still be Dark Blue. I am going to seperate the loot list for Chardok into two sections, one good for smaller boxers/groups and the other for larger boxers/groups

Good Loot in the Light Blue section of Chardok: Fancy Velvet Mantle, Girdle of Flayed Iksar, Shroud of Undeath, Shai'din Revenant Bauble, Crypt Master's Conjuring Stone, Earring of Twisted Leaves and others

Good Loot in the Harder section of Chardok: Vibrating Gauntlets of Infuse, Incarnadine Breastplate, Incarnadine Greaves, Pearly Sarnak Bauble, Writ of Di'zok

Burning Woods - Boxers/Groups/Kiters/Solo, social zone - great and wide open for kiters; not only that but this zone is a hotspot for people 50 - 54. If you are in this level range and here you ... here comes the double negative ... can't not find a group!

Ocean of Tears (Elite Goblin Isle) - Boxers/Groups, antisocial zone This place will be so desolate at the launch of Kunark that it's probably one of the best locations for just being left alone. The loot here totally blows though so only expect EXP.

Skyfire Mountains (Solo Dragons) - Boxers/Kiters, social zone - good for kiters and the dragons also have a chance of dropping Kunark spells which have a chance to be very valuable.

The Hole (Dungeon Crawl) - Boxers/Groups, antisocial zone . Not many people will venture here in kunark - small boxers can do Idol of the Underking and loam elementals/rock golems but it will take a bit more for you to handle the undead which drop withered.

Howling Stones (Dungeon Crawl) - Boxers/Groups, antisocial zone. There are no set named spawn locations really in this zone either, they can spawn randomly throughout the wings. Also to correct a few mistakes on the internet Enshrouded Veil, Golden Bracer, Stein of Tears, Melodious Truncheon are all zone wide rare items, they don't drop off of nameds or out of any specific wing. I am 100% sure on this. Although the Truncheon is MUCH more common off golems than any other mob I have found.

South wing is the most profitable to farm because of Hand of the Reaper and Fingerbone Hoop.
