Arcstone Leveling Guide

***Notice*** Everyone reading this guide in 2018 or later should note that this guide was written in 2009 or so when Underfoot was the current expansion pack. As you can imagine a lot has changed in the game since that time and some of what you read in this guide may be inaccurate or misleading. This page *does* still have some useful info which is why my newer leveling guides link here - but you should understand that most of the information here is outdated, I've taken what's correct and incorporated it into my newer leveling guides.

If you're here from one of my older links then head over to my new Everquest Leveling Guides Index page as you'll find guides for each expansion for you to choose from. I strongly urge you to use these newer leveling guides instead.

After you hit level 71, this is one of the best zones you can be in. You can access Arcstone from the Guild Hall. If you don't have a guild.... Well I don't know how else to get here =(. The good thing about Arcstone is the "Oh snap" ability that the zone has. What I mean by this ability is that if you pull too many mobs you can run to the edge of the zone and jump off into the bright endless abyss. Don't worry, you will end up in Freeport safe and sound, the only inconvience is you have to run back to Arcstone. The fastest way back is taking the Plane of Knowledge (PoK) book, back to the Guild Lobby then the Guild Hall and then Arcstone.

Once you arrive in Arcstone from the Guild Hall, you'll be in a small camp of NPCs. To get to the undead from here you should head northeast. Pop an invis if you got it, just incase. For better directions follow my map below to see exactly where to go:

In this are you'll want to watch out for Manifestation of Ravenglass. He is a big skeleton that walks around this area. If you are struggling with this location or any other location around your level I have a few things that you could do to hopefully fix that. First and foremost you will want to upgrade your gear if you're still using Defiant Gear. There are a ton of Attunable items that you can find in The Bazaar, I recommend you buy the ones that are upgrades and equip them.

If you want some help finding these items I highly recommend you use my Bazaar Gear Buying Guide (65+). The second and probably most important thing you can do is get all of the important AAs for your Class. To figure out what AAs are the most important AAs to get I recommend you read over my Everquest AA Placement Guide.

With better gear and all of the important AAs you will notice a gigantic difference in your character and what they are capable of.

Now that you're level 75 it is a great time to leave Arcstone and go head to Direwind Graveyard. To get to Direwind Graveyard you will first need to go to Plane of Knowledge (PoK). To get to PoK you can either jump off of Arcstone which will take you to East Freeport (as aformentioned) or you can just use a gate potion(Philter of Major Translocation), the Origin AA or whatever you want.

Once you're in PoK you will want to go to the Guild Hall and buy the Goru'kar Mesa stone to align the portal and then take the portal to Goru'kar Mesa. If you don't have a guild then from PoK you will want to take the Crescent Reach stone to Blightfire Moors. From Blightfire Moors run north to Goru'kar Mesa. From Goru'kar Mesa head northeast to Sunderock Springs. Below is a map to show you the easiest route there:

Once you're in Sunderock Springs you have a long journey north to Direwind Cliffs. Below is a map to show you the route to take. The first picture is the first half, and the second is the second half, due to the size of the zone I could not fit it all in one stretch.

Once you make it to Direwind Cliffs the best piece of advice that I can give to you is... don't die. You did the whole run here and you know how insanely annoying and long it was so that should give you more insentive than usual to not get yourself killed.
