How To Unlock & Craft Legendary Weapons - Persona 2: Eternal Punishment

After completing the Factory dungeon you'll be able to start a short side quest which will unlock the ability to craft Legendary Weapons for you. To start this quest you'll want to visit the Araya Shrine in the Rengedai Ward on the map. Go up the stairs to the shrine and change your camera so you can see around the back. You'll find a kid standing here named Knowledgeable Dai (pictured below).

When you talk to this kid he'll mention a Legendary Blacksmith as well as Shiraishi and the man searching side quest that she has available. Head over to Shiraishi in Hirasaka and pick up the search for Takumi Asano. From what I have read online, sometimes this search doesn't appear until later in the game... Each time I did this quest on my playthroughs it appeared right after I talked to the kid. I'm unsure why it would take so long to appear for some people, but I figured I would mention it.

Once you accept the search from Shiraishi you'll want to talk with the Security Guy standing around in the shop. You'll have to pay him 100 yen for a rumor about the Legendary Blacksmith that hangs around at Araya Shrine. Take this rumor to the Kuzunoha Detective Ageny in Aoba and spread it before you head back to Araya Shrine in Rengedai.

The man we're looking for at Araya Shrine looks a lot like the guy we just paid 100 yen to for the rumor. A picture of him and his name, Takumi Asano are found below.

Takumi Asano will give you the Secret Document which is an item we need to take over to Padparacha in Narumi. When you give the clerk this item he will have a new option available called Develop which will let you make a bunch of awesome equipment.

For most of the equipment you'll need Akashic Ring or Legenbright items, these are very limited with only a couple of different sources for each. Below is a list of where you can find each of them in the game.

Legenbright Items:

1. Complete the Seedy CD Side Quest.
2. You can find it in the World of Conviction (Final Dungeon) behind the door guarded by Ahzi Dahaka
3. In the final room of the Bomb Shelter in Kasugayama High you can find one in Sachiko's Room
4. Return a Rank 8 Suzaku Persona at the Velvet Room
5. Have a Rank 8 Odin Persona use "Persona Talk" with a Valkyrie Demon (this only works once)

Akashic Rings:

1. From the Purple Flower in Aoba Park
2. Mu Continent Side Quest.
3. The Level 86 Demon Shu (Devil) will sometimes drop this when defeated in combat
4. Return a Rank 8 Nata Persona at the Velvet Room
5. Return a Rank 8 Virocana Persona at the Velvet Room
