Persona 2: Eternal Punishment Walkthrough - Chapter 1
Kasugayama High is an optional dungeon in Eternal Punishment, it's located in the eastern portion of the Hirasaka Ward. Fans of the first game may recognize this school. This dungeon is home to every demon that you've faced up to your current point in the game along with some rare and unique demons. In the school portion you'll only find demons from the start of the game, if you need higher level demons it's the Bomb Shelter that you're looking for.
It's up to you how you'd like to handle this dungeon... You can come here every time a new portion unlocks to clear it or you can wait until you have a few new areas to explore and come here at that point... Either way this dungeon is always open to you and is kind of a means to level up/get new Personas if you find a new dungeon too challenging.
The first portion of Kasu High opens up after you complete the Sky Museum dungeon. You'll have access to B1, 1F, 2F, 3F and 4F at first. The 3F has the highest level enemies in this part of the dungeon, on the 4F you can meet someone named Yasuo Inoue. We'll see him again later.
After beating GOLD you'll unlock the first area of the Bomb Shelter and you'll also be able to get the Tek Tek Rumor and defeat that optional boss. Tek Tek is found on the 3F of the dungeon. Don't forget to take the Tek Tek Nametag back to the guy who gave you the rumor, he'll reward you with a Soma.
This whole area is kind of your introduction to the dungeon. In my opinion it doesn't start for real until you get to the Bomb Shelter.
Bomb Shelter Walkthrough
The first area of the Bomb Shelter doesn't have a map, it's basically a big rectangle with a bunch of branching hallways that lead to doors. Each door is a different Area, there's a total of 8 areas that we can unlock throughout the game. The unlock schedule for each of these areas is found below.
Each area has its own quirks but one commonality is you'll have to find the map in each one before you can view it.
Kasugayama High Unlock Schedule
Bomb Shelter Unlock - After beating GOLD
Area 2 Unlock - After Club Zodiac
Area 3 Unlock - After Laboratory/Sumaru TV
Area 4 Unlock - After the Factory
Area 5 Unlock - After the Undersea Ruins
Area 6 Unlock - Upon entering the Subway Dungeon
Area 7 Unlock - After beating Sumaru Castle's boss
Area 8 Unlock - After beating the second boss of Monado Mandala
Area 1 Walkthrough
As you could probably imagine for it being the very first area, it's pretty straight forward. The most important thing(s) to do here are to use Sachiko's Letter and get the rumor about the Minotaur clearing the boulder to Area 2. You'll also have to make a Contract with a Minotaur then tell him to destroy the boulder for you as well acquire the rumor.
For me, I was unable to acquire the Minotaur rumor in Area 1 no matter how much I tried. All of the guides online say you can acquire the rumor here but I made a Contract with literally every demon, got all 4 Jack Frost rumors and still nothing. Luckily we can still access Area 2 through the door in the northern part of Area 1.
Jack Frost also has an Atomic Bufula Spell which you can get from rumors in this location. There are four rumors about it in total which change how the spell performs. Like always, form Contracts with demons and then ask them for information to acquire these rumors.
Area 2 Walkthrough
Your first time entering this area will probably be through the northern door in Area 1. This puts you on a rather straight shot to the map room, use my picture below for the best guidance. Look for a cave entrance in the wall that leads to a very small room with the map.
In this area you have a small chance to encounter Shaka as a random encounter. He will come alone and you'll know it's him because it'll be a very tough fight. For this fight you'll probably want to be healing on someone every single round and you'll want to use your strongest single target damaging attacks. When defeated Shaka will drop Mtl./Yuiga Dokuson. You can use this to summon him as a Persona in the Velvet Room.
-shoggoth rumor for Area 5 can first be acquired here
Area 3 Walkthrough
There's honestly not much special about this area, you can find a Sachiko's Letter in the north and the map of the area in the southwest. Aside from that there's a few new demon Rumors about spells. You can also get the rumors about Shoggoth in Area 5 and the Minotaur moving the rock for Area 2 in this location too.
Area 4 Walkthrough
Another area where there isn't much we can do. You can find two letters in this area and pick up some new spell rumors. If you haven't already got the rumor about Shoggoth breaking the rock to Area 5 you'll want to try and do that while you're here. Otherwise the only way you can access Area 5 is through the door in Area 4.
Area 5 Walkthrough
If you didn't get the rumor about Shoggoth breaking the boulder to Area 5 you'll need to access it through Area 4 instead. There is a rare demon by the name of Izanami that you can encounter here. She will drop a Material Card which will allow you to summon her in the Velvet Room. I recommend you spend time grinding here until you defeat Izanami, this Persona is used on our end game team since it voids Light/Dark damage.
Area 6 Walkthrough
Before you come to Area 6 you should stop by the Bomb Shelter's entrance and pick up the Kudan rumor from Yasuo. You'll need to spread it as well, but this will make a rare demon by the name of Kudan appear in Area 6. In addition to Kudan, you can also find a different rare demon named Odin here. When defeated Odin will drop a Runic Monument which you can use to Summon him in the Velvet Room.
After defeating Kudan you'll need to head to the roof of Kasu High to turn in the quest. Your reward will be a Mutation, a Synchronize and an Adjustment Gear.
Area 7 Walkthrough
In my opinion this is the worst of all the Bomb Shelter maps because of how confusing it is. Each of the lines on the map is connected by multiple tunnels. The majority of tunnels will dead end quickly but some of them will allow you to travel between the areas. You'll have a rare chance of encountering Virocana (Sun) in Area 7 who drops the 1000 Lotus Petals Material Card. If you'd like to Summon her in the Velvet Room using this item you can.
Area 8 Walkthrough
The Bomb Shelter Area 8 is huge, luckily it's easier to make your way around this area than it is Area 7. You can find the map in the northwest and Sachiko's Room in the south-central. These are the two primary things you need to do in Area 8. The code needed to enter Sachiko's Room is 3341, inside is a Legenbright item.
You can also encounter two unique enemies in Area 8, Alice (Lovers) and Dark Alice (Lovers). Alice can be Contacted or defeated in combat like most normal demons. Beating her can reward you with an Annihilation Card. If you have the Carma Ring item (either from an Innocent Sin save file or from Returning the Junnosuke Koruda Persona at the Velvet Room) you can get Alice's Material Card. Equip the Carma Ring onto Katsuya since he leads the Contact and raise her Happiness 3 times (after forming a Contract with her). She will comment on your ring and give you her Material Card in exchange.
Dark Alice is only unique in what she drops, there are no Contact options for her. When defeated there is a small chance that Dark Alice will drop an Item Breeder.
