Loping Plains Leveling Guide - Wereorcs
***Notice*** Everyone reading this guide in 2018 or later should note that this guide was written in 2009 or so when Underfoot was the current expansion pack. As you can imagine a lot has changed in the game since that time and some of what you read in this guide may be inaccurate or misleading. This page *does* still have some useful info which is why my newer leveling guides link here - but you should understand that most of the information here is outdated, I've taken what's correct and incorporated it into my newer leveling guides.
If you're here from one of my older links then head over to my new Everquest Leveling Guides Index page as you'll find guides for each expansion for you to choose from. I strongly urge you to use these newer leveling guides instead.
The Wereorcs are one of the better leveling locations for this level. Loping Plains has a great ZEM (Zone experience modifier) and since there is a task for the Wereorcs it will add a nice extra bonus to the already great XP. Another great thing about the orcs is the camp is usually always open. Most players camp the Worgs in Loping Plains and completely ignore the Wereorcs since there are enough Worgs to go around. If you're someone who hates fighting over a camp this will be a huge plus for you.
Even if the Orcs are camped you will actually be able to find enough orcs and worgs just wondering around to complete both of these tasks. The tasks for Loping Plains is the primary reason you're here, the second you finish one of these tasks you will want to run back to Tyrinam and turn it in. Each task will give usually about 80% of an AA which is like 5 or 6 kills!
The task for the Wereorcs is called Reducing the Threat - Wereorcs and comes from the NPC Tyrinam whom is just south of the Worg camp in Loping Plains. In addition to the Wereorcs quest Tyrinam also offers a task to kill the Worgs and also Goblins in Loping Plains. The Goblins are no where near where the Orcs or Worgs are so you'll just want to completely ignore that task. However since the Worgs are so close to the Orcs you will want to grab both tasks. Below is a map of where the Worgs and Orcs are:
The only real downside of Loping Plains that comes to mind is the fact that the mobs here his so insanely hard. For a player without many AAs you will get your butt whooped here. Honestly without almost max Combat Agility and Combat Stability for your level I don't recommend you come here and if you do I seriously recommend bringing a friend and some form of Crowd Control incase you get an add. Otherwise, this location is great experience!
If you are struggling with this location or any other location around your level I have a few things that you could do to hopefully fix that. First and foremost you will want to upgrade your gear if you're still using Defiant Gear. There are a ton of Attuneable items that you can find in The Bazaar, I recommend you buy the ones that are upgrades and equip them. If you want some help finding these items I highly recommend you use my Bazaar Gear Buying Guide (65+). The second and probably most important thing you can do is get all of the important AAs for your Class. To figure out what AAs are the most important AAs to get I recommend you read over my Everquest AA Placement Guide.
With better gear and all of the important AAs you will notice a gigantic difference in your character and what they are capable of.
Loping Plains Wereorcs Loot Table
Dweric Powder (Don't loot or destroy. Sells for an extremely crappy amount)
