Luclin Everquest Farming Locations

Farming in Everquest is a highly subjective and ever changing aspect of the game. One week a location might be hot and the items you get selling off the shelfs and another week you might be unable to sell anything you farm from that area. The areas that I mention on these pages are locations that I know of which can be used for farming. It'll be up to you to determine whether or not they're good on your server and/or whether or not you'll be able to handle the location.

There's also two different types of farming locations. You have some locations which make you raw plat and locations which you'll farm for items that you have to sell in The Bazaar or to other players in order to turn a decent profit. You'll need to keep this in mind when you choose one of the farming locations on this page.

Some of these locations have links which will take you to a page with additional information on them. If you'd like to learn more about each of these individual locations I do recommend that you follow the links provided. Sometimes they take you to the Leveling Guide entry for that location and other times they take you to a Farming Location entry which I made just for that area.

Tradeskills: Making any of the items involved in the Earring of Solstice quest will net you a decent amount of plat. This Earring is one of the best/easiest items to get and will be sought by players until around the GoD expansion.

Farming Locations 20 - 30

Steamfont Mountains (Field Killing) Solo, antisocial zone - The brownies in Steamfont Mountains are actually not that bad of a place to farm for the lower levels. Their Brownie Parts have a few uses and sell the best of anything that drops here. Saltpeter drops here quite a bit and that is used in Research. Iron Oxide also drops here and is used in Pottery. Drop of Mercury as well but has a lower sell rate than the other tradeskill materials here. Honestly this location can net you a decent penny for how low level it is. Main loot: Brownie Parts, Saltpeter, Iron Oxide, Drop of Mercury

East Karana (Field Killing) Solo, Antisocial Zone - The mobs in this zone that you'll be killing are all in their late teens to early twenties. You'll primarily be killing the spiders here for money but the lions/cats also drop pelts which you can sell for some plat too. A few higher level mobs patrol through this area so if you are lower level watch out for Cyclops, Griffons and Hill Giants. If you're higher level the Hill Giants and cyclops are great plat and the Griffons drop Griffon Feathers which can be sold as well. If you have Foraging be sure to forage here for Tea Leaves which also sell.

Shadeweaver's Thicket (Field Killing) Solo, Semi-social - By the Paludal zoneline in Shadweaver's Thicket (nearby the cave entrance up on the hill) you will find skeletons called "a lesser shade" they are extremely low level and can be killed with ease. These guys drop Shadeling Silk which can be used in Tailoring as well as Swirling Shadows which is the primary item you're going to be after here. The Swirling Shadows can net you some decent PP in the baz for being an item dropped in this level range.

Rallic Pack (Misc) solo, semi-social - Farming materials to craft Rallic Packs is a pretty good way to make money for lower level players. You can even craft the packs yourself if you'd like to cut out the middle man and just sell the packs! You'll need Perfect Owlbeat Pelts, Shadeling Silk, and some other vendor purchased stuff. For farming Shadeling Silk I recommend you check out the location just above this one in Shadeweaver's Thicket. As far as the Perfect Owlbear Pelts go, Hollowshade Moor is definitely your best bet. Check vendors in the zone too incase any noobie Vah Shir vendored them.

Farming Locations 30 - 40

Many locations have been redacted from this section in an effort to make this guide less verbose. If you'd like to see more farming locations (and easier ones) I recommend that you use my Classic Farming Guide as well as the Velious Farming Guide. They'll have locations designed for players without any gear and whom are truly just starting out.

Lavastorm Basilisks (Semi-field Killing) Solo, Antisocial Zone - The Basilisk in Lavastorm are a decent place to farm if you aren't looking for instant money, all you get here is Saltpeter and Basilisk Eggs. Farming here and stocking up on both Saltpeter/Eggs will net you a decent chunk of change, however, you should expect it to take awhile to sell everything. Also, if you're a melee fighter the basilisks are a total nightmare since they stun. The reason this location is listed is because it is still a farming location and there aren't many in classic to list to begin with.

Everfrost Mammoths (Field Killing) Solo, Antisocial Zone - As you may or may not already know Mammoth Meat is one of the ingredients in making Halas 10lb Meat pies and is what we're going to be farming at this location. I'm not going to lie to you, this location isn't that great so I only really recommend you come here if you've exhausted your other farming possibilities or farm the mammoths inbetween the Giants outside permafrost or while you're waiting for someone to give up that camp. The mammoths also can drop a tusk which will sell at a vendor for some plat ontop of their meats. Also, feel free to kill other animals in the area at a chance for some pelts.

Everfrost Giants (Camp) Solo, Social location - The giants in Everfrost are a pretty well known location and can be found right outside of Permafrost Caverns. There are only a few that spawn here so you won't be able to share the camp with someone and the camp is very highly traffic'd by people heading to Vox so it isn't a really good spot if you're looking to stay away from people. The good news though is these giants share the same loot tables as Hill Giants (or close enough) so they're pretty much walking money bags!

Rathe Mountains Hill Giants (Field Killing) Solo, Extremely Social Zone - Well I assume pretty much everyone playing Everquest knows about this location by now! Rathe Mountains is classic Everquests ATM bank pretty much. There's one hill where it is very common to see Hill Giants spawn and also very common to see lots of people running around slaying them. You can make well over 10k in raw plat from a day of farming here. Be warned though, this definitely isn't an antisocial location.

Marus Seru Rockhoppers (Field Killing) Solo, Mostly Antisocial - This location is one of the earliest spots for you to farm Rockhopper Hides. These hides are used in raising your Tailoring skill and will be sought by players for many many expansions to come.

Farming Locations 40 - 50

During this level range I would strongly recommend the Rathe Hill Giants if you need immediate plat or you hit up the Cyclops in Ocean of Tears too. The OoT Cyclops will have the added benefit of also giving you EXP while you hunt them up until at least level 46 at which point it'll really start to decline.

If you'd like some different ideas on locations to farm I recommend you head back to my Classic Farming Guide or Velious Farming Guide. Both of those guides will have some different locations than what you see mentioned here.

Cyclops Ocean of Tears (Field Killing) Solo/Boxing Very Social - In Ocean of Tears there is an island called the Seafury island which is home to a bunch of Cyclops as well as a single Hill Giant named Gornit. This island is a hotspot for soloers especially those who kite since the Cyclops have pretty good loot tables and Gornit does as well. You'll get at least a couple plat with each kill usually as well as gems and other valuables. Also there is a named cyclops that is very rare that spawns here called Ancient Cyclops, he drops a ring used in the Jboots quest!

Rathe Mountain Hill Giants (Field Killing) Solo, Extremely Social Zone - Well I assume pretty much everyone playing Everquest knows about this location by now!

Frontier Mountains (Field Killing) Solo, Semi-social zone - Forest Loop, Lumberjack's Cap. The giant fort in Frontier Mountains is a semi decent place to farm at. You'll get both the aformentioned items as random drops off of the giants here, no nameds as far as I remember just the two valuable items listed and a bunch of vendor trash!

Lake of Ill Omen "Jade Chokidai Prod" (Camp) Solo, Social zone - The Jade Chokidai Prod is used in the Howling Stones key quest. The mob it drops from Chancellor of Di`zok, is on an hour and a half respawn timer and depending on how populated your server is this could be a pretty big bottleneck. People are usually willing to pay decent money for you to farm this item for them!

Lguk "Evil Eye" (Dungeon Crawl/Camp) Group/Boxer, Social Zone - There are plenty of different things to camp in Lower Guk; Bag of Sewn Evil-Eye, Braided Cinch Cord, Light Burlap Sack, Mithril-Runed Tunic, Shining Metallic Robes, Black Tome with Silver Runes, Short Sword of the Ykesha, Thick Banded Belt, Flowing Black Silk Sash.

Nagafen's Lair SolB (Dungeon Crawl/Camp) Group/Boxer - One of the few dungeons you can farm in Classic EQ is SolB. There are quite a few items here of interest that you may be able to farm. Keep in mind if you're solo here and not boxing you probably won't be able to kill any of the nameds that drop the good stuff. Cloak of Shadows, Djarn's Amethyst Ring, Golden Efreeti Boots, Large Soiled Bag, Mithril Breastplate, Mithril Greaves, Polished Mithril Mask, Rokyls Channeling Crystal.

Chardok (Dungeon Crawl) - Boxers/Groups, antisocial zone - This is a dungeon crawl type zone for boxers and or groups. This zone is huge and there is a ton of different nameds and loot for you to get. The deeper you go into the zone to the north or south the harder it gets. At 60 the entrance area will be Light blue to you but most of the harder nameds that drop the best loot will still be Dark Blue. I am going to seperate the loot list for Chardok into two sections, one good for smaller boxers/groups and the other for larger boxers/groups

Good Loot in the Light Blue section of Chardok: Fancy Velvet Mantle, Girdle of Flayed Iksar, Shroud of Undeath, Shai'din Revenant Bauble, Crypt Master's Conjuring Stone, Earring of Twisted Leaves and others

Good Loot in the Harder section of Chardok: Vibrating Gauntlets of Infuse, Incarnadine Breastplate, Incarnadine Greaves, Pearly Sarnak Bauble, Writ of Di'zok,

Farming Locations 50 - 60

This is the level range that things will really start to open up for you with different options for farming. If you're a solo player almost everything mentioned in this section will be too difficult for you. I'd recommend you use the previous section & even the section before that to come up with different locations to farm.

Additionally many locations have been redacted from this Farming Guide. I'd recommend you check my Classic and Velious Farming Guides for different ideas that aren't mentioned here. Especially if you find these farming locations too difficult for your level, you might want to try an earlier expansion where things are easier.

Boxers or players well geared will be able to easily handle all of the locations mentioned below.

Old Sebilis (Dungeon Crawl) - Boxers/Groups, social + antisocial zone - This is some of the best XP you can get in the game for Kunark the juggs also will make you rich. For 6 - 12 boxers I strongly recommend this zone as a dungeon crawl experience.

The whole right wing (where Disco 1 + 2 is) is great for lower level boxers/groups in here. The left wing is about the same as the disco area in both XP and loot. The center area (Crypt) is generally always camped and isn't the best XP - mostly nameds. You will also need a Bard or Rogue in order to pick the door for Crypt. Some loot you'll be interested in that drops from Old Seb is... Box of Nil Space, Cone of the Mystics, Froglok Bonecaster's Robe, Obulus Death Shroud, Hierophant's Cloak, Runebranded Girdle.

The "underneath" part of old seb, juggs, myoconids, that's where the money/fun is at. Once you're 55+ you should venture down here and camp the King or protector/tolpumaj

Good Loot in the Harder section of Chardok: Vibrating Gauntlets of Infuse, Incarnadine Breastplate, Incarnadine Greaves, Pearly Sarnak Bauble, Writ of Di'zok and other goodies.

Lguk "Evil Eye" (Dungeon Crawl/Camp) Group/Boxer, Social Zone - There are plenty of different things to camp in Lower Guk; Bag of Sewn Evil-Eye, Braided Cinch Cord, Light Burlap Sack, Mithril-Runed Tunic, Shining Metallic Robes, Black Tome with Silver Runes, Short Sword of the Ykesha, Thick Banded Belt, Flowing Black Silk Sash. **A lot less people will be here in Kunark than in Classic**

**A lot less people will be here in Kunark than in Classic**

Howling Stones (Dungeon Crawl) - Boxers/Groups, antisocial zone. There are no set named spawn locations really in this zone either, they can spawn randomly throughout the wings. Also to correct a few mistakes on the internet Enshrouded Veil, Golden Bracer, Stein of Tears, Melodious Truncheon are all zone wide rare items, they don't drop off of nameds or out of any specific wing. I am 100% sure on this. Although the Truncheon is MUCH more common off golems than any other mob I have found.

South wing is the most profitable to farm because of Hand of the Reaper and Fingerbone Hoop.

The Hole (Dungeon Crawl) Boxers/Groups, extremely antisocial zone - The hole is a pretty good zone for farming if you just want to be left alone. If you're not after the Idol of the Underking that drops here (the healing focus item) then there is a very good chance you won't bother anyone no matter where you decide to camp. Even on an extremely popular server this zone is rather peaceful. In The Hole there are two seperate monster types, the undead and the elementals. The elementals drop Loam Encrusted gear which is for INT casters and is some of the best stuff/only stuff you can get in Classic - Kunark. Also, the bracers remain good as do the sleeves until even PoP as droppable INT gear. Meaning you'll net a pretty good $ for a long time for certain pieces.

Withered Leather on the other hand is a bit different, it is for WIS casters and the armor is quite good during Classic and Kunark but it drops off after. Also some pieces have race restrictions that loam does not have at all. Also, the undead are much harder and fear than the elementals. This doesn't mean the undead are totally pointless to camp, they have a named that pops below the castle, Dartain the lost, on a long timer that is worth killing and I feel that withered leather has a higher drop rate for the better pieces than Loam Encrusted. Honestly, check both places out if you're here!

Iceclad Ocean (Quest) Lodizal Shell Shield - This is a pretty popular quest players do during this era. Primarily because the shield you get, the Lodizal Shell Shield is such an awesome shield (it has EB on it!!) You also can get other goodies from this quest/while doing the quest such as Lodizal Shell Boots and Belt of the Great Turtle. The boots and belt come from the named you have to kill for the quest, not the quest itself. During Velious there will be a lot of people doing this quest but it'll calm down a bit in Luclin and definitely once in PoP it'll be more of an antisocial quest than social one.

Grieg's End (Dungeon Crawl) Group/Boxer - The linked guide I have for this zone is made more for live players but it talks about the zone a little bit. I haven't done this zone before in era so I am ignorant to the nameds and such but what I can say is this zone has a higher than usual ZEM and has great vendor drops. The mobs here though hit really hard and have quite a bit of HP. It definitely will be a difficult zone if you're not 55+ and geared.

Kael Drakkel - Boxer/Group - This zone has an extremely large level spread and you can basically farm where ever you'd like in the entire place. There's nameds for you to kill spread out across the entire zone and all the frost giants have a chance of dropping armor pieces used in Thurgadin Group Armor Quests as well as different items you can sell in The Bazaar.

Dragon Necropolis - Boxer/Antisocial zone - The Phase Spiders here are fairly easy to kill and they all have a chance of dropping a Phase Spider Carapace which you could sell or use. Also there is a named Phase Spider in the eastern part of the zone, Queen Raltaas. She is very hard and drops Queen's Carapace. In the southern part of the zone you have snakes which is where Vilefang is and then you also have the Chetari rats which drop a few semi valuable things depending on your economy.

Velketor's Labyrinth - Dungeon Crawl - Group/Boxer The Icepaw family makes this zone pretty profitable to camp considering they drop Spider Fur Belt, Collar, Cloak fairly regularly, even the trash kobolds. Each of the named kobolds has their own loot table, some items good, some not so good. Lute of the Howler is the main item that stands out at the kobolds. Either way, you should be seeing a lot of bazaar sellables if you spend some time here.

Siren's Grotto - (Dungeon Crawl) Group/Boxer Fellspine + lots of velious quest gems and Tradeskill gems. Both of which you can vendor for an insane amount of plat for how many drop- There are a few good camps in Siren's Grotto, one of the best would be Fellspine for his Spiked Seahorse Hide Belt. You'll be able to net a pretty penny for the belt for awhile to come. The zonewide ink that drops here is worth keeping to sell in the bazaar. Drums of the Beast, Sleeves of the Kelpmaidens, and other goodies drop here too!

Western Wastes - Field Killing Group/Boxer - Western Wastes probably isn't the best for XP but what it lacks for in XP it makes up for in drops! There are a lot of named dragons that wander around out here and some of them can be killed with 1 group fairly easily. These dragons drop some of the really rare Velious spells such as Burnout IV, Protection of the Glades and so on. You'll mostly be making plat here but you'll get some XP too!

Cazic Thule (Quest) The Crude Bone Altar - I won't lie I don't know much about CT but it was recommended by someone who does that I mention this quest in my farming guide. It's not too difficult to do for a boxer or a group of real players and you can get a few different goodies from doing it, one of the better ones being Medallion of the Arcane Scientest.

The Deep (Field Killing) Boxer/Group Koxiux the Imperceptible - This isn't neccessarily a camp you can make a lot of plat off of but it is an amazing camp I felt worth mentioning because it's one of the earliest Shrink clickies, Wand of Imperceptibility, that I know of in the game. This is a must for anyone whose a big fat Ogre just because they're better tanks or really anyone who plays an excessively tall race.

Umbral Plains (Field Killing) Group/Boxer/Solo - This zone is definitely one of the best locations added in Luclin for both XP and loot. The mobs here hit very hard when you compare them to non Luclin content and have a ton of HP so I wouldn't recommend this location if you're under geared, under leveled or no AAs. You will get a ton of vendor drops here as well as decent NO DROP armor pieces that are on par with Classic Planar Gear. On top of those goodies you'll also find many Luclin spells and lots of really good gear that has no level recommendation on it.

Here are some examples of the loot that you can get in Umbral Plains: Wretched Pauldrons, Skull Marked Shield, Dream Weaver Webshield, Crown of the Hive, Gantru Charm, Flesh Eater's Eye, Vah Shir Skin Robe, Helm of Raldukan, Hive Fiend's Brain and much more - this is just the tip of the iceberg!

Acrylia Caverns (Dungeon Crawl) Group/Boxer - The guide I have written for this place is ancient but still has some useful information. The area outside the castle can be done by a smaller and lower level force than the castle. I'm sure you're used to the routine by now, kill in the lower level area if you're LFG/low on numbers and if you can push into the castle for better xp and loot! The vendor trash here is pretty valuable and the XP is phenomenal. Probably the best of the X-pac!
