The Lore of Aranna - Act 3 Side Quest

The Lore of Aranna is a Side Quest that begins in Kalrathia, the main town of Act 3 but requires you to visit locations in all Acts to complete the quest. In order to begin this quest you will want to speak with Telgrey the Scholar in the northeastern portion of Kalrathia.

For this quest what you'll need to do is collect 20 different books throughout the game. Each of these books has the prefix "Vol. ##" which will be used to identify which books you need. To view the entire list of books that you own open your Journal and go to Lore then Books.

Vol 1. Kings and Queens of the Northern Reaches: Snowbrook Haven Servants' Quarters

Vol 2. The Dark Wizards: Vai'kesh Sanctuary (After the treasure room you can find this book on a bench going up a flight of winding stairs)

Vol 3. Downfall of the Manu Ostar: Aman'lu on the floor of Alar'ithil's house in southern Aman'lu after you go across the bridge; you come here for Lelani's Sorrow too

Vol 4. Valdis and His Armies: Aman'lu on the floor of Tywlis' house; you come here for Tywlis' Broken Staff too

Vol 5. Turmanar and Its Aftermath: Aman'lu on a table in the Aman'lu Town Hall

Vol 6. The Skath: Eastern Greilyn Jungle in the same hut you found Vix

Vol 7. The Deeds of Xeria: Windstone Fortress; found on a table in the southern portion of Windstone Fortress. There is a soldier nearby involved in The Missing Squadron quest

Vol 8. The Death of Xeria: The Temple of Xeria; found on a bench in the central portion of the Temple of Xeria

Vol 9. The War of the Legions: The Temple of Xeria; next to the other book found on a ledge

Vol 10. The Legend of Arinth the Mad: Given to you during Arinth's Legendary Staff Side Quest - Vol. 11 is found in this house too

Vol 11. The Dryads and their Customs: Aman'lu on the ground in Eolanda's house, she starts the Arinth's Legendary Staff quest - You'll find Vol. 14 here too

Vol 12. Zaramoth's Ascendance and Downfall: Aman'lu on the second floor of the magic shop where Mage Lyssanor works

Vol 13. Elandir's Life and Teachings: Aman'lu upstairs on the second floor of the inn

Vol 14. Fables of Ancient Artifacts: Aman'lu on the ground in Eolanda's house - same place as Vol. 11

Vol 15. Symbology of the Azunites: Aman'lu on the second floor of the magic shop where Mage Lyssanor works

Vol 16. The Legacy of the Azunai: Kalrathia; north of the fountain in the center of town you'll find two buildings. This book is in the northern most building on a table.

Vol 17. The Path of Life: Eastern Greilyn Jungle in the shrine under the Circle of Mushrooms involved in Amren's Vision Side Quest. You need Amren in your party to access this location.

Vol 18. The Path of Sight: Southern Vai'lutra Forest in the shrine under the Circle of Mushrooms involved in Amren's Vision Side Quest. You need Amren in your party to access this location.

Vol 19. The Path of Death: Garden of the Ancients in the shrine under the Circle of Mushrooms involved in Amren's Vision Side Quest. You need Amren in your party to access this location.

Vol 20. The Path of Blindness: Eastern Plain of Tears in the shrine under the Circle of Mushrooms involved in Amren's Vision Side Quest. You need Amren in your party to access this location.

Once you have collected all 20 books you'll want to speak with Telgrey in Kalrathia again to turn in this quest. One of your rewards for completing this quest will be the Mysterious Book which is part of an Easter Egg for this game.
