Devil IDs Guide - Castlevania: Curse of Darkness

On this page you will find all of the information I have available for the Devil IDs in Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. You will get this ID a little more than half way through the game and you'll have to use the Magic Circle ability that it has in order to progress the main story. The Magic Circle ability is also required for 100% Map Completion and to get the Pumpkin ID later on.

Unlike all of the other Innocent Devils in this game the Devil has a straight line as far as evolutions go. You start out with a Gale then evolve that into a Brow which then evolves into The End. The only unique part of this evolution chain is you'll need a Chauve-Souris weapon in order to evolve a Brow into The End.

(Tier 1) Gale

Gale ID

Gale is the first Devil ID that you'll unlock and it's actually quite powerful for being a Tier 1 ID. The only skill it knows is Magic Circle, it'll start with this skill already learned so you don't have to do anything to unlock it. This skill is kind of useless in combat but you'll need it to progress through the game and to achieve 100% Map Completion.

Evolution Paths

Brow: 200 Crystals

(Tier 2) Brow

Brow ID

Brow is the Tier 2 Devil ID and it's a bit more powerful than Tier 1 but it still doesn't get any useful skills. You'll be able to unlock Scissor M Circle and Needle M Circle by defeating enemies while Brow is active. Both of these skills work the same way Magic Circle does with the added bonus of dealing damage to enemies when you use them. The damage is minimal and requires too many Hearts - you're better off just fighting enemies normally.

In order to evolve Brow into the final Devil ID you'll first need to craft the Chauve-Souris weapon and then collect 100 Evolution Crystals with that weapon.

Evolution Paths

The End: 100 Spear Evo CrystalsCrystals using the Chauve-Souris

(Tier 3) The End

The End ID

As aforementioned in order to evolve your Devil ID into The End you'll need to collect 100 Evo Crystals while using the Chauve-Souris Spear weapon. For more information about how to make this weapon I recommend you check out my How to make the Chauve-Souris Guide. That guide will go into great detail about all the steps required to craft this weapon.

The End is a pretty powerful Innocent Devil but I still don't think he is worth using that often. My reason for this is - he doesn't get any good skills. The only skills Devil IDs get involve the Magic Circles and they're all bad for combat. What this means is when using this Innocent Devil you'd have to rely entirely on his auto attacks which granted do hit hard but the issue is there's better out there. Why use this ID when you can use a Corpsey or an Embryo Rod instead?
