Selphie's Strange Vision Ultimate Weapon - FF8 Guide

Strange Vision is the name of Selphie's Ultimate Weapon in Final Fantasy 8. Unlike many of the other games in the series, there is no fancy quest or even location to find this weapon. Throughout Final Fantasy 8 there are Junk Shops and at these shops you can trade items to them in order to receive an upgraded weapon.

You can obtain Strange Vision late during Disc 1 around the same time you reach Deling City. The last item you'll get for this weapon is the Adamantine which is most easily obtained by Card Moding the Minotaur Card that you get towards the end of Disc 1.

Required Items for Strange Vision:

1 Adamantine

3 Star Fragments

2 Curse Spike

 

Adamantine: Card Mod the Minotaur Card for 10 Adamantine items. This is the earliest possible way to acquire these items, if you wait until later in the game they become more common. Dropped by Adamantoise enemies (beaches near Dollet).

Star Fragment: Dropped by Anacondaur enemies (lower levels) as well as enemies on Island Closest to Hell (higher levels). Iron Giant enemies also drop these, you can find them in the Deep Sea Research Center Fixed Encounters. You can also Card Mod Iron Giant cards for Star Fragments as well.

Curse Spike: Tri-face Cards or Tri-face enemies are the best source of these, you can find them in the Deep Sea Research Center Fixed Encounters. Also dropped from Creeps, Forbidden, Imp and Malboro enemies.
