Irvine Card - FF8 Guide

Irvine Card from Flo

Location: Fisherman's Horizon
Region: FH
NPC: Flo
Card Mod: 3 Rocket Engines
First Available: Disc 2

The Irvine Card is part of the Queen of Cards Side Quest and can only be acquired by first losing the Sacred Card to the Queen of Cards. After losing the Sacred Card to her you'll be able to challenge Flo in Fisherman's Horizon to a game of cards at any time for the Irvine Card.

You can find Flo inside the building in the center of the area with all of the solar panels of Fisherman's Horizon. This is also commonly known as the Mayor's House; you visit this building a few times during the game's story. Tip: There's an Ultima Draw Point which you need Move-Find to see in the right hand side of this room.

Unlike all of the other Rare Cards, you can't win the Irvine Card from any of the Card Club Group onboard the Ragnarok during Disc 4. Every card that's a reward in the Queen of Cards Side Quest is unique and can't be acquired any other way.

Irvine Rocket Engine Card Mod

You can Card Mod the Irvine Card into 3 Rocket Engine items. These can teach any GF the Spd+40% ability or you can use Time Mag-RF on them to turn them into Triple magic. Only two GFs learn Spd+40% naturally, Cerberus and Pandemona. Speed is quite a useful stat but you're likely going to be using other, more useful, abilities instead with your limited ability spaces.

For this reason I recommend you turn the Rocket Engines into Triple magic instead. Triple is one of the best magics that you can Junction to your characters and you'll get enough Triple magic to give one character 100 and another 50.

(Time Mag-RF) Rocket Engine: 50 Triple
