How to create Leather Padding

Leather Padding is a low level material made with Tailoring and is used in many different Smithing recipes. In order to create Leather Padding you'll need to first farm Spiderlings for Spiderling Silk as well as Bears, Cats, Wolves or Rockhoppers for their hides.

We need Low Quality Pelts for the Leather Padding Recipe. If you have a Medium or High Quality Pelt you can downgrade it into a Low Quality one with a Skinning Knife. More information is found on that below. First, let's look at all of the different ways for you to make Leather Padding.

This recipe is kind of the odd ball out since it uses Luclin only mats, Shade Silk and Rockhopper Hides. You can still use the Leather Padding made by this combine in all your other recipes.

Downgrading Medium & High Quality Pelts

As mentioned earlier, downgrading a pelt is easy. All you need is a Skinning Knife, which is created through a few simple Smithing combines and a Medium ore High Quality Pelt that you wanna take down a notch. Plop the Skinning Knife and Medium or High Quality Pelt into a Sewing Kit (or Loom) and then hit combine. You'll get your knife back as well as a Lower Quality version of your pelt.
