The Broken Mirror Group Gear

The Broken Mirror implemented a gearing system much like what we saw in the Call of the Forsaken expansion pack. You can use the group currency (Remnants of Tranquility) to purchase a whole assortment of augmentations (slot 5 and 9s) for levels 75 - 105 which are used in the group gear. The group gear drops off different nameds in the expansion pack and comes in the form of Raw Crypt-Hunter Gear.

While every player in the game will benefit from reading this guide and learning more about the TBM group gear - those of you reading this who play on Firiona Vie or a server with a similar ruleset allowing almost all items to be traded will benefit the most. On FV you can trade the gear as well as the augs used in the gear which makes this one of the most accessable means for most players of gearing a character 75 - 105.

Raw Crypt Hunter Gear

The gear for this expansion is called Crypt-Hunter and it's made by right clicking on a piece of Raw Crypt Hunter Gear and converting it to a piece of gear for your class. A few examples of the Raw Crypt Hunter gear is shown above, as aforementioned this stuff is a pretty common drop off the named enemies throughout the TBM expansion.

When you right click this gear it'll change into pieces similar to what's shown below (just for your class).

Crypt-Hunter Flameweaver Sleeves Crypt-Hunters Frostfire Cap

As you can see this gear has more than usual augmentation slots. Slot 5s are something that started in TBM and has continued since - from 105 onwards you should get used to having those in your gear. The slot 9s are unique to TBM gear and that's going to be the main slot that gives this gear all of its power.

In order to purchase the Slot 5 and Slot 9 Augmentations from the NPCs in the Plane of Health you'll need to have completed the intro quests for the TBM expansion pack. You only need to complete a few travel quests and one Heroic Adventure which I am fairly certain scales down in level (assuming you're lower than 105). It would be incredily tough for you though, assuming you're not well geared and 6 boxing to complete the HA before level 105.

The reason I am saying this now is because it puts a huge disclaimer on this gear. If you're not playing on the Firiona Vie server you might find it easier to do Dead Hills Gribble HAs for gear and use the Marks of Valor to puchase that group gear. Those of you lucky enough to be on FV will be able to purchase all the items talked about in this guide from The Bazaar and usually for rather cheap.

The screen shot above shows you a piece of the TBM Gear with all 105 augmentations in it. As you can see it's much better than before! You can use any type of Slot 9 or Slot 5 that you want in any type of gear. There are no class restrictions on it - only level restrictions; so if you're not careful you can outfit a melee set of gear with caster augs!

To make things easier for you I am going to break down how the augmentations work in a few different ways. Here is the level break down for each different type of aug that you'll find sold by Montelio Danhowe in the Plane of Health. Search these in The Bazaar depending on your level (if on FV).

Resplendent - Level 105 Augs
August - Level 100 Augs
Regal - Level 95 Augs
Glorious - Level 90 Augs
Extravagant - Level 85 Augs
Stalwart - Level 80 Augs
Elegant - Level 75 Augs

Now the next step is figuring out which type of augmentation you want to use. Daybreak didn't make this easy for us since they switch up what some of the augmentations do between some of the levels. To give an example, Vengeful at 105 is for casters but at 100 it's for melee. Look at my screen shot below for an example of the example.

Caster vs Melee Aug Comparison

Now I am going to break down the best Slot 9 gems that you should buy based on your level for each class. They'll be differentiated by class archetype; tanks, healers, caster dps, melee dps and things such as that. First we're going to start with level 105 and slowly work our way down to level 75.

Level 105 Resplendent Augs
Tank - Sturdy
Healer - Beneficent
Caster DPS - Vengeful
Melee DPS - Fulcrum/Vengeful (neither are really 'great' for melee)

Level 100 August Augs
Tank - Sturdy
Healer - Valiant
Caster DPS - Resourceful
Melee DPS - Fulcrum
Hybrid DPS - Resourceful/Vengeful (hybrids that cast a lot Resourceful isn't too bad for)

Level 95 Regal Augs
Tank - Sturdy
Healer - Valiant
Caster DPS - Resourceful
Melee DPS - Vengeful
Hybrid DPS - Resourceful

Level 90 Glorious Augs
Tank - Sturdy
Healer - Valiant
Caster DPS - Resourceful
Melee DPS - Vengeful
Hybrid DPS - Resourceful

Level 85 Extravagant Augs
Tank - Sturdy
Healer - Valiant
Caster DPS - Resourceful
Melee DPS - Vengeful
Hybrid DPS - Resourceful

Level 80 Stalwart Augs
Tank - Sturdy
Healer - Valiant
Caster DPS - Resourceful
Melee DPS - Vengeful
Hybrid DPS - Resourceful

Level 75 Elegant Augs
Tank - Sturdy
Healer - Valiant
Caster DPS - Resourceful
Melee DPS - Vengeful
Hybrid DPS - Resourceful

There you have it! A break down for each archetype! Don't forget that these only cover the Slot 9 gems.. The Slot 5s stay consistent throughout each level range and the one you choose is mostly up to you. I usually mix Heroic Agility/Stam on my tanks and every other character of mine gets Heroic Stamina Slot 5s.

Players on Firiona Vie looking to gear up - search The Bazaar for Crypt-Hunter gear as well as Resplendent Augmentations. You'll find TONS of slot 9s for extremely cheap while the Slot 5s are all much much more expensive. Luckily though, the slot 5s are an optional piece for your gear.
