V Rising Walkthrough (Act 3 and Act 4)

This Walkthrough was written in the middle of 2026 during the V1.1 release of the game. I focus entirely on the PvE aspect of the game with this guide, there won't be any advice for PvP. When playing through the game I didn't own any of the DLC so I won't be covering any thing related to that. From my understanding they offer small benefits anyway like a better cloak and things of that nature. There's no content in them.

For the most part I will be focusing on game progression and the best ways to do that with this guide.

Return to V Rising Walkthrough (Act 1 & Act 2)

Act 3 Walkthrough

This act starts with some important boss fights, we need to take out Ziva the Engineer as soon as possible for the Radium Alloy recipe. This will let us upgrade our Castle Heart and repair the weapons at the Ancestral Forge. If you're struggling with any of the next bosses, you can farm the area where Ziva the Engineer is found for Radium Alloy and use that to repair the broken weapons from the Ruins of Mortium. Keep any Mutant Grease you find too, we'll need a ton.

Ziva the Engineer: One of the most important bosses of Act 3. She gives Fabricator (New crafting station), Sludge-filled Canister (new recipe) and Radium Alloy (new recipe). We need Radium Alloy right now and we're going to need Sludge-filled Canisters later.

Domina the Blade Dancer: Advanced Grinder (new crafting station), Whips (new weapon type) and Elixir of the Blasphemous.

Angram the Purifier: Dawnthorn Regalia, a new set of armor. He gives other stuff too but this is primarily what we want.

Use your Radium Alloy to repair a weapon that you get from the Ruins of Mortium. Also, use your Stygian Shards to buy Passive Skills from the Altar of Stygian Awakening and equip them. You can equip them by going into your Spellbook Menu and clicking on the final tab. The game intends for you to choose a 'build' at this point in time; you'll want to use passive skills that enhance the spells you use. I like going with a full pet build that utilizes Condemn, Death Knight, Soulburn and Army of the Dead are the spells I was using at this time. The two green passives that enhance them are what I chose.

When you're ready our next stop is the Cursed Forest, we need to take out Ben the Old Wanderer first because he'll give us the Shroud of the Forest recipe which is a cloak that lets us see in the Cursed Forest. He is an easy boss to kill because all he does is run from you, kind of like Beatrice in Act 2. The main thing you'll be fighting during this boss is all of the adds that attack you.

Ungora the Spider Queen: She lets you craft Silk and summon Spiderlings at the Vermin Nest which also can give silk. You'll also get Spider Form which is best for when you need to AFK.

Tip: The Cursed Forest debuff fades away when you're inside of the Spider Cave with Ungora the Spider Queen. You can use this to your advantage to clear stacks of the debuff until you get Shroud of the Forest. Since you can still follow your tracked targets even with 100 stacks, track her V Blood to find the Spider Cave.

Ben the Old Wanderer: Pristine Leather and Shroud of the Forest (recipes); you'll want to make Shroud of the Forest ASAP so that you can see in the Cursed Forest. You can actually make this item directly from your inventory, just go to the Crafting tab and find the recipe. Ghost Shrooms are blue mushrooms throughout the forest.

Foulrot the Soultaker: Spectral Dust (recipe) is the main thing you get from Foulrot, it's used to make Dark Silver Ingots and for a few other things.

Once you've beaten Ungora the Spider Queen you're able to easily craft the Dawnthorn Regalia set of armor. You'll have to farm Mutant Grease from Gloomrot South, Pristine Hides from any high level animals and Silk. Combine Silkworm and Cloth at the Loom to make Silk. Make as many pieces of armor as you need to beat the next few bosses.

Albert the Duke of Balaton: Beating Albert unlocks Coining, which is the ability to make coins. He also gives Toad Form which lets you turn into a toad.

Willfred the Village Elder: Silver Resistance Potion, Pristine Leather Bag and Elixir of the Werewolf. The Silver Resistance Potion will come in handy in Silverlight Hills because we're going to be farming silver to make the next tier of weapons and to upgrade our Castle Heart to Level 5. Tip: You must kill Willfred during night time (when he is a werewolf) for the kill to count.

Cyril the Cursed Smith: Unlocks another Passive Slot, an Anvil and Advanced Furnace (new crafting stations) as well as Dark Silver Ingot (new recipe).

Before we finish off Act 3 we still have a few other things to accomplish, I'll go over the optional stuff first then we'll talk about the mandatory story quest. My first big recommendation to you is to make a garden with all of the seeds you've been finding. You can harvest your crops once an hour and we need the plants for both Alchemy Potions as well as for the Pollen which can help us make Scrolls. Put your plants into the Grinder to turn it into Pollen. Another use for plants is to put them into Tombs which will summon undead for Bones/Grave Dust and other undead related materials.

V Rising Garden

Your garden doesn't need sunlight in this game, you can build it indoors or under an overhang of your base. Depending on how many seeds you get, you'll need a decent amount of space so you may have to make the garden at your second base instead. If you haven't been spending your Copper/Silver yet, you may want to buy some seeds with your money as well. Normally I spend my Copper/Silver on either seeds or Brew of Ferocity and Enchanted Brew. Both of these brews require Fish Bones which are another resource that's a bit difficult to obtain. So it's up to you what you prefer to spend money on.

Now, as for a second base--you may be thinking "one base is good enough for me" and honestly, me too. However, the reason we want to make a second base is exclusively for Servants. My second base is normally 3 rooms in total. I make a Prison so I can send Servants there and I make a room for the Servants' Coffins along with a Treasury which holds some basic materials that I need. Going back and forth from base to base to get minor things like blood is too tedious so I make sure my bases have them on hand.

When it comes to choosing a second base location, I recommend you look at my V Rising Base Locations Guide for more information. Making a base in Gloomrot or Cursed Forest is a good idea at this junction of the game. Aside from making a base for Servants, you'll have to both collect them and gear them. As I recommended earlier, I normally only go for Servants over 90% blood. This will give them about 50% Expertise when you convert them which results in more loot and success chance.

If you're not a big fan of this game or you're just not looking to min/max you can settle for the 60%+ range for blood. The zone that the enemy comes from matters a lot too, if you get a Servant from Dunley Farmlands and you send them on hunts in that same location you'll get 20% bonus loot (equal to 20% Expertise) since they have a bonus to that area. So a servant with 60-70% blood and a bonus to the zone you plan to farm in is just as good as a 90% servant from a zone you don't plan to farm in. Servant class matters too but much less and (let's face it) you'll be looking forever for the perfect Blood % and Class in the right zone. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good in this situation.

As for making your Servants their gear, what I would recommend is making them whatever you have the most materials of. Dawnthorn Regalia would be the best thing to make them atm but you may barely have enough materials for yourself. The same is true for weapons, make what you can afford and upgrade them as you level up and get access to more materials. With lackluster gear your Servants can easily farm Iron Ore, Copper Ore, Cotton, Wool Thread and the list goes on. You'll be needing tons of these materials to do crafting as you level up, so send Servants to farm whatever you're low on. View them as time savers, they're there to farm resources below your level which would otherwise be a waste of time for you to do.

Once you're ready to advance the "story quest" you'll want to upgrade your Castle Heart to Level 4. This will complete the A Castle reaching the Sky quest. The next quest for us to complete is called Nightfall Steed and it requires us to tame a horse

Nightfall Steed

If you don't already have a horse, get one from anywhere you want and use Subdue on it to complete the quest. The next story quest involves upgrading the Castle Heart a final time which we'll get to in Act 4, for now it's all about preparation for the final Act. My first big piece of advice would involve moving your base or creating a second one in Silverlight Hills. I recommend the western side of the zone near the Silver Mine because you'll have to farm it a few times manually before you can send your servants. Check out my V Rising Base Locations Guide for more information about the spot I am talking about.

Another thing you'll want to do now is spend any Copper/Silver Coins that you have lying around. Normally the best things to buy with these are Seeds/Potions. I normally buy seeds for plants I am short on first, then I dump whatever money is left over on potions/consumables. Speaking of seeds, if you haven't already started a garden you'll want to. You'll need lots of plants for Alchemy and any extra plants can go to Tombs for summoning Undead or to the Grinder to be turned into Pollen. You can use Pollen to make Paper or to make Coarse Thread.

If you're struggling with the game, Potions are going to be a help as will using the right blood types. Normally in this game most of my damage comes from spell casting so I tend to focus on caster blood over melee blood. My Prison Cell has a Draculin with 90% blood whom I harvest consistently so that I always have a supply on hand. If you need Fish to reduce their Misery, send Servants on missions to gather fish for you.

The last bit of advice I can give is your build/spells. I used a Condemn pet build when I played, my skills were Veil of Bones, Soulburn, Death Knight and Army of the Dead. My strategy was basically to summon as many skeletons as possible when fighting. Each skeleton that dies heals you for 1% HP and your Veil will heal you for 5% on a successful hit (and summon a skeleton). For weapon I used the Claw, normally I can get right up into an enemies face and keep myself alive with all of the self healing. On harder fights I would kite around and dodge attacks while summoning my Death Knight ontop of the boss/enemy.

Tips & Tricks:

- In Gloomrot you'll find Tech Scrap piles which will give you Tech Scraps every time you hit them as well as Depleted Batteries when they're fully destroyed. This is the best way to get both of these resources.

- A good place to farm Greater Stygian Shards is Dracula's Castle Garden. Destroy the barrels/objects and open the chests.

- Do you have a Prison Cell in your base where you keep someone with a good blood type that's a high %? If not, you really should...

- Make sure you put all of your crafting machines into rooms with appropriate floors, this will reduce how many materials they use when crafting

- If you need gems visit Bedrock Pass in Dunley Farmlands. Alternatively, buy some from merchants.

- You can upgrade the shattered weapons multiple times at the Ancestral Forge. Once they're repaired combine them with a Dark Silver weapon and then a Sanguine Weapon. The Dark Silver will make it into an ilvl 24 item and the Sanguine will make it into an ilvl 27 item.

Act 4 Walkthrough

Upon starting Act 4 the first thing you'll want to do is visit the Sacred Silver Mine in northwest Silverlight Hills. If you track Sir Magnus the Overseer you'll be lead directly here. This mine has tons of Silver Ore inside which we need to make the next tier of weapon. You can take out Sir Magnus while you're here, but I recommend you craft a Dark Silver weapon before you fight any of the other bosses.

Sir Magnus the Overseer: Bigger storage for basically everything and a new cloak.

Baron du Bouchon the Sommelier: He unlocks a new necklace (Blood Merlot Amulet) and a new form (Barrel Disguise) along with a new recipe (Blood Merlot). He's the most important first boss to do since he'll give you a gear upgrade. You can get Blood Merlot from a prisoner in your Prison Cell, that's needed to make the amulet.

Morian the Stormwing Matriarch: She unlocks Flawless Gems.

Mairwyn the Elementalist: Greater Jewel recipes along with the Holy Resistance Flask recipe.

Craft the Blood Merlot Amulet that you learn from beating Baron and then challenge the next boss for our next researching station.

Henry Blackbrew the Doctor: Henry here unlocks a lot of useful stuff. The two most important are the Athenaeum (new research bench) and the Schematic recipe. Schematics are what you use to learn the new recipes when you don't have the books. You'll also get Redistribution Engine (new station accessory).

Before you can craft the Athenaeum you're going to need to collect some Emery from Oakveil Woodlands. This zone can be a bit challenging, but finding and collecting Emery isn't too hard. What's going to be more challenging is defeating the next few bosses before you are able to upgrade your gear. Matka the Curse Weaver is the main person you need to take out because she'll give you the Advanced Loom and the Ghost Yarn recipe. The Ghost Yarn is required to make the next tier of gear (which you'll research at the Athenaeum).

If you're stuck at Gear Level 74, you can squeeze out one more level by taking one of the shattered weapons that you find and repairing it. Once it's repaired you can put it back into the Ancestral Forge to upgrade it with a Dark Silver weapon to make it even more powerful. This will get you to ilvl 75 which is all we need for the next few bosses.

Lucile the Venom Alchemist: She gives the Blood Homogenizer, a new crafting station. This lets you combine two bloods into one for a combo effect/bonus.

Matka the Curse Weaver: Back to the Cursed Forest to defeat one of the more important bosses; as aforementioned she gives Ghost Yard (recipe) and the Advanced Loom which lets us craft it.

Terrorclaw the Ogre: He unlocks the Advanced Tannery, a new crafting station.

Once you've beaten Matka spend some time making Schematics and unlocking Armor Recipes then crafting new gear for yourself. You can get up to ilvl 79 at the moment which is enough to take out the next two bosses. Azariel is the most important since he gives the Gold Ingot recipe which lets us make new weapons.

Azariel the Sunbringer: Gold Ingots are the #1 thing that you want from this boss. Make some of them and you can make Sanguine Weapons at the Anvil.

Voltatia the Power Master: The main thing you want from her is the Power Core, it's a new recipe that you can make at the Fabricator station.

Now that you can make Sanguine Weapons, you're able to upgrade your shattered weapons one last time at the Ancestral Forge. Combine a Sanguine Weapon with an upgraded version of a shattered weapon and you'll be able to get one more ilvl out of it.

Before we are able to make the new tier of Necklace you'll have to visit Gloomrot North to get some Charged Batteries. We need to farm Depleted Batteries first if you don't already have them, these are used to make the Charged Batteries. The best way to farm the Depleted Batteries is to look for piles of Tech Scraps and destroy them (they work just like ore/trees, just hit them until destroyed). Look at your map for locations where Depleted Batteries can be found.

You're able to charge 10 Depleted Batteries at a time at two different locations in Gloomrot North. The location I prefer is Thunderstrike Peak, I normally hit the Trancendum Power Plant for Radium/Batteries then charge them at Thunderstrike before heading home.

Charging A Battery

Aside from Thunderstrike Peak you can also charge batteries at Stormdrain Hills in the southwestern portion of Gloomrot North. Both of these locations are very close to a Waygate so it isn't a far run for either. By Stormdrain Hills there is also a vendor who will sell some Charged Batteries for Goldsun Coins. In my opinion buying the batteries is not worth it, but you may feel differently.

Once you have the Charged Batteries you can put them into your Fabricator with some Radium Alloy and turn them into Power Cores. 9 Power Cores will give you access to the next upgrade for your Necklace, bringing you up to either ilvl 84 or ilvl 85 depending on if you upgraded your weapon at the Ancestral Forge again.

Now that you have Power Cores you can also upgrade your Castle Heart to Level 5. This is the max level for Castle Hearts in the game and it'll give you access to more servants. You'll also complete the "Vampire Empire" quest and unlock the Eye of Twilight. Our next quest is to build this station, it will show you the location of Soul Stones which are rare necklaces that you'll get for defeating the next 4 bosses in the game.

Before we challenge the next few bosses I will mention briefly the Greater Stygian Shards that we can farm in the Ruins of Mortium. We need these to unlock even more passives, I recommend you farm these rifts inbetween killing the next few bosses.

Simon Belmont the Vampire Hunter: He'll unlock a Passive Slot and the Sanguine Whip. All in all he is kind of a meme boss. He will always be marked as ?? for you but with a gear level of 85+ you'll be fine.

Dantos the Forgebinder: Beating Dantos unlocks the Fusion Forge and the Ember Glass recipe. Fusion Forge lets you modify the enchantments on weapons made through the Ancestral Forge. Ember Glass is used to make the Fusion Forge for now, it's used for the Onyx Tear later.

Lord Styx the Night Champion: One of the more important bosses to beat in the game since he unlocks Bat Form! Yay, we can finally fly! He'll also unlock the Onyx Tear recipe as well as the Blood Key recipe. The Blood Key is a requirement for getting into Dracula's Castle.

Gorecrusher the Behemoth: Defeating Gorecrusher will get you the Bat Leather recipe as well as the Bat Leather Bag recipe. New bags are always great, as for the Bat Leather that's used to make the best armor in the game.

General Valencia the Depraved: You'll learn how to craft Primal Jewels from beating Valencia as well as Shadow Weave. You'll need Shadow Weave to make the best armor in the game.

With those bosses out of the way, you're now officially in the final stretch of the game. We have 4 mini bosses then the big baddy, Dracula. Before you start facing off against the hardest bosses in the game you may want to take more time and farm Ruins of Mortium for Greater Stygian Shards. Use them to unlock the passive abilities at the Altar of Stygian Awakening until you have 3 that you're happy with.

There's another thing we're going to be using those Greater Stygian Shards for and that's making some jewels. By this point in time you've probably figured out what spells you like and which you don't and it's time to upgrade the ones we like that we haven't found jewels for yet. You can do this at the Jewelcrafting Table.

Aside from chugging 5+ potions to make yourself stronger, you can also use Weapon Coating! If you forgot, we unlocked this a bit ago and it's crafted at an Alchemy Table. If you're following my advice and doing my spec then you'll want to use Unholy Coating. Whatever coating is most relevant to your spec is what you'll be using.

If you don't mind the grind right now, you can also make a Level 30 Weapon by repairing one of the epic shattered weapons at the Ancestral Forge. This will raise your ilvl to 88 which is the highest you can get before you make Dracula's Gear. The vendor in northern Ruins of Mortium will sell epic shattered weapons for 1500 Greater Stygian Shards each. You can buy the one you want this way pretty easily. To upgrade them you'll need a Sanguine weapon of the same type and Onyx Shards.

Each of the four following bosses will unlock recipes for Dracula's Armor as well as a craftable pedestal which can hold a Soul Shard. Depending on the rules on your server they may or may not give you a Soul Shard when you defeat them. If you want to repeatedly get the same Soul Shards you need to set them to "Plentiful" in the server settings. This will let multiple people get the same Soul Shard too.

If you find yourself struggling with any of the bosses try another one and/or craft more armor from previous bosses. Each boss gives you a piece of gear so you'll be able to increase your level with each one. As previously mentioned, you can also farm Ruins of Mortium for Greater Stygian Shards and buy/find an epic shattered weapon. This will put you at ilvl 88 which is two levels above Solarus and Talzur.

Solarus the Immaculate: Unlocks Dracula's Boots recipes. Depending on your server he may also give you Soul Shard of Solarus, a powerful necklace for Condemn builds.

Talzur the Winged Horror: Talzur unlocks Dracula's Gloves recipes. Much like with Solarus, depending on your server he may also give you Soul Shard of the Winged Horror. In order to reach Talzur you'll need to use Bat Form.

In my opinion the easiest of the two are Solarus and Talzur. Megara was the hardest for me, especially her second phase. There's one other thing you can do that may help you beat these bosses (aside from turning the difficulty down to Relaxed) and that's using the Blood Homogenizer. You can use this machine to combine two different blood types, you can choose which of the traits you want to carry over from the second blood type.

Megara the Serpent Queen: She unlocks Dracula's Leggings recipes. Depending on your server you may or may not get Soul Shard of the Serpent from defeating her too.

Adam the Firstborn: Adam unlocks Dracula's Chest recipes and may give you Soul Shard of the Monster, depending on your server. On your way to Adam you'll find two gates which can only be opened with an EMP. The first gate you can use Bat Form to fly over but the door to his cathedral will require an EMP to gain entry.

Once you've defeated Solarus, Talzur, Megara and Adam you should make all 4 pieces of gear and then make the Blood Key too at the Artisan's Table. You'll need the Blood Key to reach Dracula, it doesn't need to be equipped but it has to be in your inventory. Drink all the consumables you want, use a Weapon Coating and head out to Dracula's Lair in the Ruins of Mortium.

The final boss of this game is a tough one, you may have to change your spells a bit to make it easier or wait for a Blood Moon. He has two phases and as usual, he is much more aggressive in the second phase. Giving advice on how to beat bosses in a game like this isn't something I am good at because I am generally impatient and don't like sitting down to methodically learn all of a bosses attacks.

Beating Dracula will give you the Throne of Darkness, which is basically just a new and cooler Castle Throne. You will also get the Pedestal of Dracula which is a storage unit for his Soul Shard. There's no content that comes after Dracula so... at this point you're effectively finished with the game!
