V Rising Base Locations Guide
As with most Survival Crafting games, choosing the proper location for your base is very important. If you're playing with the Teleport Bound Items server setting enabled then it's even more important to choose a base location near to where you're farming. The last thing you want to do is run all the way across the map every time you need to drop off resources.
Over my time playing V Rising I have found at least one location per zone that I like for making bases. I've listed all of the zones below in the order you'll likely encounter them in game. Click to enlarge any of the pictures on this page to better see the location.
Farbane Woods - NW Corner Base Location (Near Merchant)
My favorite spot to make a base in Farbane Woods at the start of the game is in the NW corner near the merchants. I like this location because it's right next to the Merchants and it's close enough to Dunley Farmlands that when I am ready I can run up there and farm materials. The biggest draw back is early in the game you'll have to deal with higher level mobs around your base. You'll gear up pretty quick though.
Farbane Woods - Scenic Base Location (SW Corner)
Another location in Farbane Woods that's good is in the bottom left corner, this is considered one of the more scenic base locations in the game too. I put my Servant/Garden spare base down in this location because I knew that I was never going to move the base once it was designed. As a main base you may want to choose a different spot that's closer to end game resources, but as a secondary base this location is great.
One neat benefit of this location is you'll get a river and a waterfall right next to your base.
Dunley Farmlands Central Base Location (Near Merchant)
Ultimately, any location around the merchants in the middle of Dunley Farmlands is a great location to make your base. Normally shortly after reaching Dunley Farmlands I will make a base in the middle of the area. You spend so much time farming in this part of the world and there are so many resources you have to run back to your base--it kind of just makes sense to make one here. It's nice being so close to the Silver merchants too.
The location I chose in the picture above comes with a lake, which is something unique that other locations in this area don't have.
Hallowed Mountains Base Location
There are a total of 5 build spots in Hallowed Mountains and they're all more or less the same. Pick any of the 5 that you want, I chose the one closest to the Ruins of Mortium since I wanted to be close to that.
Base Location Inbetween Dunley Farmlands & Cursed Forest
I kind of like this location as a main base location, but it will only work on a server where you can teleport with any items you want. The area for building is huge and flat giving you plenty of room to do whatever you want. If you build in this spot when you're doing Dunley Farms progression you'll be close to the Cursed Forest for when you need to go there later in the game too.
Gloomrot South Base Location
The location in Gloomrot that I like the most is this spot in Gloomrot South. It's right next to the Pools of Rebirth and also Rustlock Village, both of which you can do farming runs in for all the resources you need in this zone. Mutant Grease will be something you farm a lot of until your Servants can farm it for you. The same is true with Tech Scraps.
Cursed Forest Base Location
Cursed Forest is a pretty crappy spot to make a base because you'll be forced to use the cloak the entire time you're there otherwise you'll build up the debuff stacks in the zone. Even in your own base, you'll still build up those stacks. I chose this spot though to make a base for awhile because it was so close to the Silk Worm farming location.
Silverlight Hills Base Location (Near Silver Mine & City)
In my opinion, the best location to make your base in Silverlight Hills is the spot west of the Silverlight Mine (pictured above). Normally when I reach Silverlight Hills for the first time I will make a base at this location with the expectation of farming some Silver Ore from the nearby mine.
Not only is this spot close to the mine, it's also a wide open area that's relatively flat and easy to shape into your castle. As you progress through Silverlight Hills you'll also be happy to know that Brighthaven (the city) is just south of this base. Giving you 2 end game farming locations right next to your base.
Silverlight Hills Base Location (Near City/Vendors)
South of Brighthaven is another location that I liked and spent some time at. The run is a tad bit longer to reach the city, but you're very close to the vendors which is great. Once I was done farming silver and I could depend on my servants to do it, I moved my base down to this location. If your goal is silver, then you'll probably want to do the location mentioned above.
Oakveil Woodlands Base Location
When it comes to making a base in Oakveil, the spot I like most is in the middle of the map nearby the camp where you can farm potions/herbs. The only items I really ever farmed in Oakveil were the Corrupted Oak trees or the potions and herbs from the camp in the middle of the zone. Since this location is right next to the camp in the center of the zone, it makes for a good spot.
