Demon Reaction Questions - Persona 2: Eternal Punishment
I decided to put together a list of all the questions and answers that I saw while playing Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. There isn't a list online that I could find of all the questions/answers and I did something similar for Innocent Sin when I played that game. I am a guide writer and it's my job to document stuff like this so... All of the questions and answers on this page can be accessed through the Contact System in the game.
Some questions are asked randomly and will select a random person in your party to answer. Other times questions are triggered depending on the reaction of the demon or the person talking to him. For example, Katsuya only questions will typically involve cop/criminal justice elements (since he is a cop). Baofu only questions will involve his recording device or the voice(s) used.
You can also get questions which are triggered based on what emotion you make the demon feel. If you make it angry it may reply with an Anger Response or if you make it interested or happy it may ask you a normal or philosophical question. Each question will have (normally) 3 - 4 different answers that you can choose.
From my understanding, the monster's personality traits affect what emotions certain answers trigger... but in my experience this is not always the case. Some answers are more random than others and I believe that some are hard coded to always give certain outcomes. For example, if a demon asks you if they're an idiot and you say yes... I find that 70% of the time or more this results in a negative (Anger) outcome. However, there's usually a small chance that the demon may show interest in your boldness.
Another thing I have learned is that (almost) every answer has two different outcomes, one positive and one negative. That means it's going to trigger either Happy/Interest as a positive outcome or Anger/Fear as a negative outcome. I've found a few answers that only triggered one emotion type... but I have never found an answer that has given 3 different emotional outcomes.

For this question, when I answered with #1 'Wrinkles' I got interest or fear typically. Then when I did #2 'You gain weight' or #3 'You get attention' I always got happy. Even when using save states to repeatedly try for a different outcome on multiple demons, I always got happy. Strange, I know. Finally, for answer #4 'Nothing' I always got interest or anger.

Usually when answering with #1 I got either fear or interest, maybe it was just my RNG but I feel like I got fear more often in actual play.. I could make interest trigger all the time using save states though. When answering with #2 or #3 I got either happy or angry.

1 and 2 seem to be interest or anger depending on whether or not your roll succeeds. #3 is either fear or anger - in other words never pick answer #3 for this one.

Ok so as you may expect, answering #1 gives anger. This is the only response I ever got from answering 1 which is both obvious and also weird to me. Almost all of these questions and answers in my experience have at least two emotions associated with them, so it's weird this one doesn't... but it's also obvious you're calling the demon an idiot so... I mean... What else is it supposed to do other than be mad? What's even more strange is answer #3 triggers fear or interest... When it triggers interest the demon is like, "Actually, I think so too" ... I mean....
The second answer will give either interest or anger depending on your RNG. Answer #4 is happy or anger depending on your roll.

Any time you make a demon angry there's a chance he'll angrily ask you a question. This is one of those. For this question it seems like the demon personality doesn't matter too much... I almost always got the interest emotion when I chose #3, brain. Honestly it feels like every other answer always upset them, usually anger.

For this question, whenever I chose answer #1 I got either happy or angry depending on my RNG. Answering with #2 got me either interest or anger... Whenever I answered with #3 at all I got anger and nothing else; usually the demon cursed at me for being a drunk and they said how much they hate drunks. Then finally for #4 I got either fear or interest.
