Palworld Base Locations

I've compiled a complete list of all the base locations I have found in Palworld. Every resource you need that can be gathered by Pals at a base has a spot mentioned below. Along with multiple 'open area' bases which make good Main bases or Ranch/Breeding bases.

Every location I have found is on this page but if you'd like to narrow the list down, you can use one of the links below. They will take you to a different section with bases relating to just those materials.

Logging Base Locations

Mining Base Locations

Oil Base Locations

Open Area (Main Base/Ranch/Breeding Base) Locations

Ore, Coal, Sulfur, Oil Base Locations

There are a lot of resources you will need in Palworld for advancement and it isn't always possible to make a Quarry in your base to farm them. Sometimes you want a resource before you've unlocked the Quarry and in those instances, having a secondary base to farm resources is typically better. Then you have some resources like Oil which don't work as well without an oil node to gather from.

Early Game Ore Base Location

Early Game Ore Base Location

One of the best early game bases for Ore is right near Chillet. This is a hop skip and a jump from the Hill of Beginnings where you first begin your journey. While this location does have a lot of Ore, it's not the best for building an actual base. It's best used as a resource base.

Above Fenglope Ore & Sulfur Base Location

Ore Above Fenglope

Just above the cave that Fenglope is located in you'll find a great spot for an early game resource farming base. Depending on exactly where you put your Palbox you will get a different amount of Ore/Sulfur nodes in the circle. I got 10 Ore Nodes and 4 Sulfur nodes in my circle when I made the base for this guide. The only downside of this base location is you will have some overhang, the blue circle is too big to fully encapsulate the entire area.

Western Coal & Sulfur Base

Western Coal and Sulfur Base

This base location is in an easy to get to area at the start of the game and it has 3 Sulfur and 5 Coal nodes near each other. This isn't a great location for an actual base but it makes an excellent spot to throw down a Palbox along with a couple of Pals to mine the nodes.

Northwestern Coal & Ore Base

NW Coal and Ore Base

If you want ore and coal, this makes a great location! You'll find 8 ore nodes and 7 coal nodes at this spot along with a respawning chest extremely close to the base. The Pals around this base are all in their teens so you don't have to worry too much about big threats if you come here early.

Ore & Pure Quartz Eastern Mining Base

Ore and Pure Quartz Eastern Base

Pure Quartz is another one of those early game road blocks, without the proper cold protection you can't get to it in the Mountains... Thankfully there is a base in an easy location where it's plentiful! At this spot you'll find 5 Ore nodes and 6 Pure Quartz nodes; there's also an egg that spawns nearby.

Pure Quartz Pristine Snow Field

Pure Quartz Southern Snowy Mountain

Unlike the other Pure Quartz locations, this one is ontop of a small rock platform and right next to a PAL Genetic Research Lab. In total you can find 9 Pure Quartz nodes here along with a single Ore node. There will also be a bunch of trees mixed in with the nodes.

Pure Quartz Central Mountain (Land of Absolute Zero)

Pure Quartz Central Snowy Mountain

In my opinion this is the best spot in the mountains for Pure Quartz. There are 8 Pure Quartz nodes here along with 2 Ore Nodes, ontop of that you'll also find a chest and an egg nearby.

Sakurajima Oil & Mushroom Base Location

Sakurajima Mushroom and Oil Location

This location I am pointing out specifically because it's the only spot you can get two Oil Nodes and some Mushroom trees into a base circle. You can probably get the two coal nodes nearby into the circle too, but they aren't nearly as useful. I wouldn't recommend building an actual base here though because you'll hit the overhead mushrooms that you can't destroy if you go up too far near the mountain wall... but this is an excellent automated resource farm.

Sakurajima Oil Nodes & Base Locations

Sakurajima Oil Base Locations

I didn't want to put 5 different locations on this page for Sakurajima so instead I just made one screenshot of all the locations that I feel are good on this island.

Sunlit Isle - 3 Crude Oil Nodes

Crude Oil on Sunlit Isle

We have two great locations for farming Crude Oil in Palworld, my personal favorite is Sunlit Isle. There is an upper section which will have 3 Crude Oil deposits and a lower section which will have another 3. Your base will only be able to circle 3 at a time so you'll have to choose if you want to be on the upper or lower section.

Oasis Isle - 3 Crude Oil Nodes

Oasis Isle Crude Oil Base Location

The second great place to make a Crude Oil farming base is at Oasis Isle; it's found just east of the desert island. Just like with Sunlit Isle there are 3 nodes on a raised platform and 3 nodes on the ground level. When you place a base you're only going to be able to fit 3 in the circle; either the upper nodes or the lower nodes.

Feybreak 3 Hexolite Mine Base Location

Feybreak 3 Hexolite Mine

This spot is pretty much the only location that has a cluster of Hexolite Ore on the entire continent. If you aren't getting enough Hexolite through Expeditions or your Quarry, this is a pretty good spot for some more. One oddity of this location is there's an NPC standing in the middle of the three Hexolite. I normally capture her and then merge her with my Zoe.

Floating Islands 6 Soralite Base

Sky Islands 6 Soralite Base

You can find 6 Soralite nodes here along with a chest just outside of your base circle. From all my searching around these islands, this spot had the most Soralite nodes in one place while also being a flat enough surface/area for a Palbox and no pathing issues.

Floating Islands 3 Soralite & Hardwood

Sky Islands 3 Soralite Hardwood

About two dozen trees that you can harvest for Hardwood and 3 Soralite nodes on this small floating island. This wouldn't be a good spot at all for building, but if you want to harvest these two resources it makes for a great spot. Put down a food bowl and drop a Logging + Mining pal along with everything else they need and let them go to town!

Floating Islands 5 Soralite (Open Area)

Sky Islands 5 Soralite Open Area

There are 5 Soralite nodes in this area and plenty of space if you'd like to actually build something. Out of all the Floating Island locations I have listed, this one would be the best actual base. Most of the others are just for farming resources.

Open-Area Base Locations

Open base locations make for excellent main base or ranch/breeding base spots. Ideally a good open location will have minimal resources, you want as little stuff as possible obstructing your building. Resources around your base are fine and can be helpful but in Palworld almost everything you need can be farmed from a Quarry which you can make in your base. Most stuff that doesn't come from a Quarry can be farmed from Expeditions. So typically there's no real reason to make your main base at a cluster of resources.

It's strongly advised you separate your Main Base and your Breeding/Ranch base as well. Ranches will handicap your Pals ability to effectively transport materials because they'll focus on Ranch drops and only carry 1 item at a time. This will dramatically slow down all production at your base and there is no real solution aside from putting your Ranches at a different base.

(Early - Mid Game) Southern Base

Southern Ranch Base

This spot is a great early game main base location, it is in a wide open area without many natural resources to get in your way. Just north of this location is also a Skill Fruit Tree which you can raid every so often for a chance at getting something good.

(Early - Mid Game) Marsh Island Open Area

Marsh Island Base Location

Marsh Island is relatively close to the Hill of Beginnings where you start the game, so this makes a good initial base location. There are no note worthy resources at this location except Stone and Wood

(Early-Mid Game) Ice Wind Isle Open Area Base

Ice Wind Isle Open Area Base

It's a big open area where you're free to build whatever you want. There are some Ore nodes nearby if you wanted to encircle them too but I don't recommend it. An area like this is designed to have as little clutter as possible and Ore nodes would just be clutter. One upside of this location is it's close to the ice mountain and japanese island.

(Mid-Game) Saruman's Tower

Sarumans Tower

One of my favorite base locations on this list is regarded as 'Saruman's Tower' in the community. There is a huge pillar here with 4 chests that sit ontop of it, you can make a Palbox right in the middle of this pillar and have plenty of room to build. You can find numerous egg spawns around the base of the tower as well as a dungeon entrance. With the 1.0 release there's also an egg that spawns up at the top of the tower too.

(Mid to Late Game) Feybreak Eastern Base

Feybreak Eastern Open Base

Feybreak has a bunch of locations for you to make a base, this is probably my favorite of them though. The area is big enough for you to just barely fit a Palbox's circle on the flat part. You can also find a chest very close to where you put down your Palbox, it's just a tad bit north inside this flat dirt area.

(Mid to Late Game) Ocean Bases

Ocean Bases

Starting with the 1.0 launch of Palworld, we're now able to craft on the open ocean! In my opinion this is a great option for people who want to put multiple bases close to each other and/or people with worse computers. As you can see in the picture above, I have one base that's far away from land and the other bases. This is my main base and I didn't want to hit a limit where there's so much stuff that I start dropping the FPS in the surrounding area. So I made my base in a spot where there's nothing around which gives me more leeway.

The other two bases that are close to each other are my Ranch/Breeding bases. One has all my Ranch Pals and the other has whatever I am breeding at the time. These bases are what I kept from Mid game to the end of the game.
