The Legend of Zelda - Item Game Genie Codes (USA)

This page contains the Game Genie codes I have for The Legend of Zelda (USA), a game for the original NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). If you're playing with an emulator you'll typically be able to put these codes into the program directly through a built in option. Any of you who are old school and playing on a physical console, you'll have to purchase a physical Game Genie cheat device to use these codes.

This only works if there are items to the right or down from where the selection is currently at.
If you go past usable items you'll get to invalid items which will probably crash the game when used.

Have All Items Except Magic Shield (When Opening the Item Menu)
Opening and closing the menu activates the clock which makes you invincible; it also opens the door to Zelda in Ganon's Room.
Map Icon is glitched and compass doesn't work in the final dungeon.

The clock effect turns on/off when using this code, switch screens to clear it.
If you don't like the sword you get, open/close the menu to get a different one.

Press SELECT To Switch Between Sub-Weapons/Items (Less Codes)
Pause is disabled. If you have the Letter selected and then press Select you'll move into the invalid items. Don't use these or you'll break the game.
Instead, open the menu and select a valid item instead. Avoid letter by having a potion.
