Cerberus Card - FF8 Guide

Cerberus Card

Location: Galbadia Garden
Region: N/A
NPC: Cerberus (Drop)
Card Mod: 100 Lightweight
First Available: Disc 2

The Cerberus Card is obtained by defeating the Cerberus boss in Galbadia Garden during Disc 2. Technically he is an optional boss but skipping him would be silly since the GF you get for winning the fight is too useful.

On Disc 4 if you completed the Card Club Side Quest you'll be able to play members of the CC Group on the Ragnarok and win this card as well as many other Rare Cards from them. This quest must be completed prior to the end of Disc 3 for you to take advantage of it during Disc 4.

Cerberus Card Mod

You can Card Mod the Cerberus Card into 100 Lightweight items which can be further refined into either Haste magic or an Accelerator item. Haste is self explanatory but an Accelerator item teaches your GF the Auto Haste ability which is fantastic and one of the few abilities worth teaching to your GF.

To get an Accelerator out of this card you'll want to use the GFAbl Med-RF Ability taught by the Eden GF on the 100 Lightweights that you get for Card Moding Cerberus.

The only GF that comes with Auto-Haste is Cerberus so you can pick basically any other GF you want to use the Accelerator on. I go over this more in detail on the Kiros Card page but here are your options for using the Accelerator.

Shiva, Ifrit and Quezacotl: These 3 GFs are commonly separated in each build, some people recommend pairing at least one of them though

Shiva, Carbuncle, Quezacotl: These 3 GFs have to remain separate at all times since they're the only 3 GFs with Vit-J. That makes these the safest choice for these sorts of items
