Dollet Seifer Grind (Disc 1) - FF8 Guide

During the Dollet Mission on Disc 1 you're given one of the best opportunities to grind Items, AP and EXP for your GFs without increasing the level of your actual characters. In Final Fantasy 8 enemies level up with your characters, so the lower your characters levels the weaker the enemies.

Note: Grinding with Seifer will decrease how much SeeD Experience you get for completing this mission - however SeeD experience from these missions is almost useless anyway.

You can greatly use this knowledge to your advantage and do things like this grind which will get you tons of goodies without making the enemies any more difficult! When Seifer joins your party during the Dollet mission you're going to want to Junction all of your GFs to him and defeat Squall + Zell.

This means that only Seifer will be alive and the only one getting EXP. Your GFs will still gain EXP and AP as they normally would and you get to keep all of the items Seifer gets (some of which are used in Ultimate Weapons, more on that later).

The area that I see most people grind when doing the Seifer Grind is on the Dollet bridge (pictured above). Basically just run back and forth across this bridge until you've got all the AP you need or you're bored and want to push the game forward.

Note: If you plan to defeat the X-ATM092 enemy and do the X-ATM Dollet Trick then it's basically required that you get Str Junctions for Ifrit and preferably as many other Junctions as you can get while grinding here.
