Quest Requirements: Make a Goddess Shield and give it to Branton

Quest Pre-Requirements: Side Quest #169 Complete; This is a DLC Quest

Reward: Purple Orb

This quest begins by speaking with the man on 1F of Stornway Castle in the north-central portion standing in the dining room. In order for him to give you this quest you'll first have to complete Side Quest #169 which is given to you by this same man.

Much like the Sage Stone before it, the materials for making a Goddess Shield are extremely rare. You probably have the stuff you need to make a Saintess Shield and Goddess Ring but you may be lacking Orichalcum. The only way to reliably get Orichalcum is to farm high level Grottos and open the chests there.

You'll also get a lot of the other items you need to make the Goddess Shield from these same chests, such as Saint's Ashes, Ruinous Shield and the sub combines for Sainted Soma and Life Ring. Basically in order to make items like the Goddess Shield the people who designed this game expect you to farm Grottos for a looooooooooong time.

Saintess Shield: 1 Ruinous Shield + 3 Saint's Ashes (Made with Alchemy)

Goddess Ring: 1 Life Ring + 1 Sainted Soma + 1 Gold Bar (Made with Alchemy)

Orichalcum: Found in high level Grotto chests
