Quest #123 A Present from the Past - Stornway Inn

Quest Requirements: Venture into a Grotto with the "Of Doulour" Suffix and defeat the boss

Quest Pre-Requirements: This is a DLC Quest

Reward: Yggdrasil Dew & Yggdrasil Leaf

This quest begins at the Stornway Inn by speaking with Erinn behind the counter, she won't mention this quest is you're in front of the counter. Also this quest is one of the many DLC quests in Dragon Quest IX and can't be accepted unless you're appropriately flagged for it.

The Grotto Erinn is talking about is one of the end game aspects of Dragon Quest IX. Grottos reward players with some of the best gear and biggest challenges in the whole game. As for this specific quest, the amount of time it takes you to get an "of Doulour" Grotto is completely uncertain. I've personally ran 28 Grottos and have only seen one Grotto with 'of Dolour' in the name, which is shown below.

When you arrive inside the Grotto with this quest in your log, Erinn will show up and speak with you. She can't be harmed throughout our exploration so just go about your business normally. When you beat the boss at the bottom you'll get another scene with Erinn. Completion of this quest unlocks Side Quest #125.
