Disgaea DS is the 2nd port of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness and a port of its PSP remake Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness for the Nintendo DS. On March 5th, 2008, it was announced in Weekly Famitsu Magazine that Disgaea: Prince of the Demon World and the Red Moon would be coming to the Nintendo DS. No other information or screenshots were included.
On March 7th, NIS America released a statement on the U.S. release of a new edition of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness for the Nintendo DS. The game would be a port of the PSP version (Afternoon of Darkness), keeping Etna Mode, and would also include multiplayer gameplay.
