Closing Wanev's Portal - NWN Side Quest (Chapter 2)

Closing Wanev's Portal is a side quest that begins by speaking with Wanev on the 2nd floor of his house. You can access Wanev's Tower multiple different ways, there is a Portal in Port Llast that can bring you here or you can enter through the front entrance in the South Road map.

On the first floor of Wanev's Tower you'll find the Imaskarran Tome of Ice which is involved in the Five Tomes of Imaskar side quest; this item can be found in a bookshelf in the northeastern portion of the map. You'll also find The Star of Calimshan which is involved in Tomi's Tale, a Henchman side quest for Chapter 2.

To reach the second floor with Wanev on it you'll have to enter the middle portion of Wanev's Tower and go through the door leading upstairs. Here you'll find Wanev who will immediately attack you upon entering his room. You'll have to deal enough damage to him to make him surrender before you're able to begin this quest.

For this quest you need to enter the door behind Wanev and defeat Gulgash inside of Wanev's Tower - Summoning Chambers. Once Gulgash has been defeated you'll want to loot Gulgash's heart and place it inside of the Brazier next to the Portal. That's technically all you have to do in order to complete this quest.

While you're in this area you should also grab Wanev's Gem which is part of The Serpent's Gems side quest. You'll find this gem in a chest along the northern wall of this area, for the exact location use the link provided to go to The Serpent's Gems quest page.

After closing the Portal in this area return to Wanev for your reward. One thing to note is after completing this quest Wanev will disappear from the game.
