We're finally back in control of Master Chief! These next few missions are some of my favorite in Halo 2 because of the environments we go through. For the first part of this mission you'll be dropped off in some ruins where there are a few Covenant bunkered up. Fighting these Covenant is totally optional - if you kill them all then hang around long enough you'll get a resource drop off.
Head into the canyons when you're done and clear out the Jackal Snipers, continue down the only route available and you'll find a building with many Covenant inside next to a canyon. There will also be numerous Ghosts in the area which you can hijack and steal for yourself.
Across the canyon is a Wraith which I recommend you blow away with any remaining Rocket Launcher ammo. Inside the small building you'll find the button that lowers the bridge and allows us to cross to the other side (pictured below). Once you lower the bridge to the other side you should wait around a bit before crossing it. There will be a Pelican that flies in and drops off a Scorpion Tank for you which will be a big help in clearing out the upcoming areas. All of the upcoming areas are very linear and filled with enemies. You'll be going through various large hallways and rooms and there will be dozens of Ghosts and various other enemies everywhere.
Eventually you will reach a large square arena with turrets all around it and a building in the central portion. Clear out the enemies surrounding the building then go inside of it; Cortana will make a comment about enemies pouring out of this building when you get close enough which lets you know you found the right one.
You will have the leave behind the Scorpion Tank at this part of the mission. There will be many energy shields blocking the entrance to the building and even if you destroy them there will be no way for you to take the tank inside. Inside you'll have a close quarters courtyard battle arena followed by a long range canyon battle arena.
Continue through a cave on the far side of the canyon to come to an area with a bunch of UNSC weapons and ammo dropped off (pictured below). I recommend you take a Battle Rifle and something for close range combat - we have one more fight left on this level and it's going to be close range against some sword Elites.
Use your long range weapon to kill the Jackal snipers ontop of the building and then continue down the path inside. If you're good with grenades I recommend using them against the sword Elites in this room. After killing the two Elites inside more will enter the room, kill them too and you will complete the mission.
