Odin Card - FF8 Guide

The Odin Card is obtained by defeating Odin in the Centra Ruins on Disc 2 or any time later. While you can defeat Odin as early as Disc 2 and obtain this card, it's recommended you don't since when you get to Disc 4 if you have Odin he'll be replaced with Gilgamesh - who is much worse. If you get Odin on Disc 4 though, then you won't have this issue.

Additionally having Odin or Gilgamesh means that you won't be able to reliably do the Angelo Search Farming Method which is a big loss if you're trying to be a completionist. Once you're on Disc 4, assuming you've completed the Card Club Side Quest you'll also be able to win the Odin Card from the Card Club members onboard the Ragnarok.

You can Card Mod the Odin Card into 100 Dead Spirit items which you can then turn into Death magic. That's the only thing they can be turned into but depending on which method you use you can either turn them straight into Death magic or into Death Stones then into Death magic.

Don't do the (Tool-RF) Route because it's completely inefficient, you lose the majority of the Death magic that way.
