How To Make Macros In Everquest
This guide is going to talk about how to make a macro in Everquest and what you can do with a macro. You can make a macro by right clicking one of the empty slots in the Socials Page of your Actions Window. The default Hotkey to open this is Ctrl + O. A macro gives you 5 lines of text which you can repeat whenever you press the macro.
Knowing how to make a macro is only the first step, the second step of this process is learning all of the slash commands that are possible in EQ. This is an old game and there are many commands available in it that are unavailable in modern games.
You're able to do a lot in EQ, for example if you wanted to forage you would set it as an ability then use /doability # to activate it. See that item on your cursor? Use /autoi to put it into your inventory. Want to use that item from your inventory? Type out /useitem and you'll get a list of variables to use an item in the game from your inventory or equipment slots.
During your time learning how to forage a mob attacked you, luckily you can /cast 8 and gate out. That isn't working though, you're taking too much damage! So you choose to /alt act 43 (Exodus) to get out of there. Good thing you didn't die because then you'd have to /consent <player name> to help get your corpse back!
Our buffs have faded, let's /memspellset Buffs and rebuff ourselves. In the mean time though, let me /afk real fast and /follow my friend while I run to the bathroom. When I am back I can do /gems as I wait for my buffs to finish. Also, there's too many dead mobs in this area so I should really /hidecorpse all to hide the bodies. That's about all the creativity I got in me so I think I should end with /q which will quite literally quit you out of the game.
My cute story above is just a small example of how many different /commands there are. Check out the links below if you'd like to learn even more.
