Alliance & Horde Capital Cities Reputation Guide (Classic WoW)
This page includes information about how to raise the Reputation of all the main factions for Alliance and Horde. It doesn't matter if you're trying to raise Orgrimmar or Ironforge faction, they're both done in the same ways. One thing I will note early on too is that raising Reputation with the main factions becomes significantly easier in TBC. Each quest will give more rep in TBC and you'll typically get to Revered with some of the factions by just leveling to 60.
In order to raise your main factions you have two real routes, one of which I will recommend you never do which is the Runecloth route. You can turn in Runecloth in any faction capital to get rep with that faction, this is good to do once for the EXP from the quest but it's a terrible way to earn faction long term.
Believe it or not, the best way to get faction with all of the main cities is to do Alterac Valley. Specifically, you need to turn in Armor Scraps, Blood and Meat inside of AV. Each turn in will get you Reputation with your AV faction along with all of the major factions for your side (Horde/Alliance).
That's really all there is to it, you get a lot of Reputation from doing this so it will only take... two dozen or so AVs for you to complete all you need. It sounds like a lot but look at it this way, each turn in gets you Reputation with all capital cities at one time. So, ultimately, you're doing multiple grinds all at the same time.
Note: During some yearly festivals you will also get a chance to raise faction with your main cities. One of the best for this is the Lunar New Year, each of the Elder NPCs that you speak with will give you Reputation with your entire faction Horde/Alliance.
