It was originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in Japan in 1991 and in North America in 1991 as Final Fantasy II. The game has since been re-released on various platforms, including the PlayStation, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, and PC. The game follows the story of Cecil, a Dark Knight and captain of the Red Wings, who questions his loyalty to his kingdom after being ordered to steal powerful crystals. Along with a cast of characters including mages, ninjas, and summoners, Cecil embarks on a journey to uncover a plot to destroy the world and redeem himself for his past actions. The game is known for its complex storyline, memorable characters, and innovative Active Time Battle system, which allows players to select actions for their characters in real-time.
