Phalanx is a side-scrolling shooter video game developed by ZOOM Inc. and published by Kemco for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It was first released in Japan in 1991, and later in North America and Europe in 1992. The game features six levels, each with its own unique setting and boss. The player controls a spacecraft named the CRS-01 as they battle their way through hordes of enemies, using a variety of weapons and power-ups to survive. The game is known for its unusual box art featuring an elderly man playing a banjo, which has become a meme in gaming culture.
