Madden NFL '97 is an American football video game released in 1996 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). The game was developed by Electronic Arts (EA) and is part of the long-running Madden NFL series, which is named after former coach and sports commentator John Madden. In Madden NFL '97, players can control their favorite NFL teams and players as they compete in full games or shorter contests such as playoffs or the Super Bowl. The game features updated rosters and statistics for the 1996 NFL season, as well as new animations and improved graphics compared to its predecessor, "Madden NFL '96." Madden NFL '97 also introduces the "Create-a-Player" feature, allowing players to customize and save their own unique characters. The game includes commentary by John Madden and Pat Summerall, adding to the realistic feel of the gameplay.
