Breath of Fire is a role-playing video game developed and published by Capcom. It was initially released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in Japan in 1993, and later in North America and Europe in 1994. The game features a turn-based combat system and follows the story of Ryu, a young man with the ability to transform into a dragon.The game's story involves Ryu and his friends' quest to save the world from an evil goddess. Breath of Fire was well-received upon release and has since spawned a series of sequels and spin-offs on various gaming platforms.
