Act Raiser Guides and Walkthroughs

Act Raiser is a side-scrolling action and city-building simulation video game that was released in 1990 by the Japanese video game company, Enix (now Square Enix). The game follows the protagonist, known as "The Master," who has been awakened from a long slumber by a mysterious voice. The Master was tasked with battling an evil demon named Tanzra, who had taken over the world and caused chaos and destruction.

The game features both action-packed platforming levels and strategic city-building gameplay in which players can shape and develop their civilizations. Act Raiser has been considered a classic and was well received upon release, earning praise for its unique blend of gameplay styles and its memorable soundtrack.

Act Raiser - Hidden Extra Lives

Throughout the game there are several hidden extra lives you can find. The ones I know of can be below, the level you can find it in is listed first below followed by a tidbit of information on how to find it in that level.

Bloodpool: Make it rain on the woods located northeast of the lake.

Kasandora: Uncover the Pyramid then cause an earthquake

Fillmore: In Bloodpool there will be a compass players can obtain, if you get it then you'll be able to use it in Fillmore for an extra life.

Northwall: Strike the main temple with lightning.

Act Raiser - Hints for Simulation mode

The objective of Simulation mode is to build your town in a direction towards monster lairs all while protecting your town/people from the monsters. How well you do in Act mode determines how large of a civilization you can have in Sim mode. Once you gain the ability to build bridges you'll want to build as many bridges as you possibly can since regions can only have 128 structures at once, including bridges. Once you learn how to grow wheat instead of corn you'll want to teach all future populations how to grow wheat instead of corn by using wheat on their corn fields. After you've taught everyone how to grow wheat you'll want to use the earthquake feature to destroy all the corn fields you have and force the population to regrow them as wheat fields.

You should remember this earthquake trick too for forcing your populations to further their technological advances. Earthquakes will destroy weaker buildings so when you want your civilization to build new buildings that are more technologically advanced you'll want to be a dick God and wreck some things with an earthquake.
