Guide for all the Gold Mine Locations
There are a total of XxX Gold Mines hidden throughout the world of Gun. All you need to mine Gold in Gun is a Pickaxe which can be purchased from the Shopkeep in Dodge City. After you repair the bridge that leads to Empire City almost all the Gold Mines will be available to you in game.
The only Gold Mines you can't get until later are the same ones in the valley we began the game in where we met Honest Tom. For every Gold Mine that you mine from in Gun you'll with 10$; not much considering it's Gold...
On this page you'll find I have taken two different approaches to writing this guide. The first of which is an overhead map of the entire area with every Gold Mine numbered and marked on it. If you personally don't need much of a walkthrough to find the Gold Mines you'll probably prefer this method.
Additionally incase you get stuck on any Gold Mines or just can't find one of them I have added a bit of information for each location below. Furthermore if you still are struggling to find that specific Gold Mine you're able to click on any of the links below which will take you to a page with additional pictures to help you locate that specific mine.
Gold Mine #1 - If you leave Dodge by crossing the bridge and look to the left you'll see this gold deposit
Gold Mine #2 - Go down the bridge that's near dodge and search the river banks
Gold Mine #3 - Same deal as #2 but further down the river bank to the north
Gold Mine #4 - Further north still of #2 and #3
Gold Mine #5 - Found north of Dodge near the river bank
Gold Mine #6 - Found west of Dodge you have to jump a small gap in the canyon with your horse to reach it
Gold Mine #7 - Found near the Train Tracks going through the southern Badlands
Gold Mine #8 - Found on top of the rail road's building that is at the entrance to the cave
Gold Mine #9 - This Gold Mine is next to the path that leads into the mountains and to Gold Mine #10
Gold Mine #10 - This Gold Mine is a bit tough to reach - you have to travel up the mountain pass that's in this area and drop down onto the ledge that this mine is on. Look where you're going with the camera because the wrong drop could kill you.
Gold Mine #11 - This Gold Mine is found in Devil's Canyon to the north by the mouth of a river.
Gold Mine #12 - This Gold Mine is found on a ledge over looking a windy road in Devil's Canyon.
Gold Mine #13 - This Gold Mine is found on a ledge in the miner's city in Devil's Canyon
Gold Mine #14 - You can find this Gold Mine at the most northern portion of the map next to Magruder's Mine. Run along the northern wall to the east and you'll find it in no time.
Gold Mine #15 - This mine is located along the northern wall in the Badlands area.
Gold Mine #16 - This mine is to the southeast of #15, also located in the Badlands area but instead of being outside it's located inside of a mine shaft. You can find the entrance to the mine shaft on one of the raised pieces of land in the middle of the Badlands.
Gold Mine #17 - This Gold Mine is found in the same mine shaft as #16. It's practically right around the corner.
Gold Mine #18 - This Gold Mine is found on the southern path leading out of Empire City - the same one that the train tracks follows
Gold Mine #19 - You can find this Gold Mine tucked away in a small canyon just to the east of Empire City. Immediately after entering the canyon it's to your right in the corner
Gold Mine #20 - This Gold Mine is also in the same canyon that #19 is in but it's tucked away in the back rather than up front
Gold Mine #21 - You can find this Gold Mine south of Empire City. Follow the river out of the southern part of the city and the Gold Mine will be near the posts holding the bridge up covered by some bushes.
Gold Mine #22 - This Gold Mine is found at the mouth of the River leading north out of Empire City. Instead of us traveling south to the end of the river like we did in #21 - this time we go north!
Gold Mine #23, 24 and 25 - These Gold Mines are found at the end of the crevase by Empire City. Extremely easy to find and there are 3 here!
Gold Mine #26 - This Gold Mine is found up alongside the cliff side northeast of Empire City. You have to cross the bridge and then follow the cliffs around hugging the side of the mountain facing Empire City. When the path you're following ends you'll find a ledge you can jump up on and another and another until you're where I am in the screen shot.
Gold Mine #27 - This Gold Mine is found in the pass just north of Empire City leading to Piper Lake. It's tucked away in a corner relatively well hidden - use my picture if you need help locating it.
Gold Mine #28 - You can find this Gold Mine in the path leading down from the canyon into the Piper Lake area. It's alongside the path under a tree
Gold Mine #29 - You can find this Gold Mine almost in Piper Lake. It's very well hidden and you won't see it until you're almost on top of it.
Gold Mine #30 - This Gold Mine is found north of #29 along a raised ledge.
Gold Mine #31 - This Gold Mine is found north still of #29 and #30 - found underneath a flowing Waterfall
Gold Mine #32 - This Gold Mine is found at the northern end of the 3 way split of River Canyon, the western most canyon on the map. You have to cross a bridge in order to reach this Gold Mine.
Gold Mine #33 - You can find this Gold Mine underneath the Camp of friendly bandits at the northern most back end of River Canyon.
Gold Mine #34 - Just south of #33 at the mouth of the river you'll find this Gold Mine
Gold Mine #35 - Further south of #33 and #32 you'll find this Gold Mine by following the river to its end
Gold Mine #36 - You'll find this Gold Mine all the way in the back of the area behind the Indian Hunter.
Gold Mine #37 - This Gold Mine is located on the outskirts of the maze like area in the Northern Rockies, which are located north of Piper Lake
Gold Mine #38 - This Gold Mine is found within the maze like area in the Northern Rockies.
Gold Mine #39 - To the east of Gold Mines #38 and #37 you'll find a rail road. Follow it a ways north until you have the town in sight and then turn around. You'll be able to go up a path that leads you to the top of the rail road overlooking the town like you see in my screen shot. This is where you'll find the Gold Mine.
