First Samurai is a side-scrolling action-adventure game developed by Vivid Image and published by Kemco for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1993. The game takes place in feudal Japan, where the player controls a samurai warrior who must travel through time and space to defeat an evil sorcerer known as the Magician. Along the way, the player must battle various enemies and bosses, solve puzzles, and collect power-ups and items to aid in their quest. The game is known for its unique gameplay mechanics, such as the ability to switch between different time periods and planes of existence, as well as its challenging difficulty level.

At the title screen, enter the following sequence to begin on the desired level.

Level 1-2: Hold L + R + X + A and press right

Level 2-1: Hold L + R + X + A and press down

Level 2-2: Hold L + R + X + A and press left
