Dr. Mario is a puzzle video game developed and published by Nintendo. It was first released in Japan in 1990, and later in North America and Europe in 1990 and 1991, respectively. In the game, players control Dr. Mario, who must use his pills to eliminate the viruses that have taken over a laboratory. The game is played on a grid, and players must arrange the pills in such a way that they match the colors of the viruses to eliminate them. The game features a multiplayer mode in which two players can compete against each other to see who can eliminate all of their viruses first. The game was praised for its addictive gameplay and catchy soundtrack, and has since been ported to multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Game Boy, and Virtual Console.
