Salamander, also known as Life Force in some regions, is a classic side-scrolling shoot 'em up game developed and published by Konami. It was originally released in 1986 as an arcade game and later ported to various home gaming platforms. In Salamander, players control a spacecraft known as the Vic Viper, which is tasked with navigating through various levels filled with enemy ships, obstacles, and bosses. The gameplay is fast-paced, and players must use their shooting and dodging skills to survive waves of enemies and defeat challenging bosses.

One of the notable features of Salamander is the ability to customize the Vic Viper with various power-ups and weapons. These power-ups can be collected by destroying certain enemy ships or by finding hidden capsules scattered throughout the levels.
