Pokke Farm Layout & Guide - MHFU

Pokke Farm Overview

The Pokke Farm is a very important part of this game because it's the only area outside of a hunt that you can collect resources that you need for weapons, armor and items. When you first start the game only a few parts of the farm can be accessed but as you rank up and complete hunts as well as earn Pokke Points you'll be able to purchase upgrades for your farm.

Pokke Points are earned by completing quests given by the Training School, Treasure Hunts and returning Account Items during quests. I'd argue that the most common way you'll earn Pokke Points is through the Account Items that you find while doing hunts. At the end of each hunt any Account Items you find are automatically converted into Pokke Points.

Each farm upgrade can be purchased from the Pokke Farm Caretaker in Pokke Village. You can find him standing near the entrance to your farm, a screenshot of him is below. In addition to purchasing farm upgrades at this NPC you're also able to purchase items that aren't sold at vendors in town such as Armor Spheres and Suiko Jewels.

Now that we've got the general information about Pokke Farm out of the way, below you'll find information about each section that you can gather items from at the Pokke Farm. The Pokke Farm is split up into multiple different parts each of which serve their own purpose with gathering. One spot will give you Fish, another Ore, then you also have the farm, a spot for mushrooms, honey and the list goes on.

Below is a complete list of all the various sections in the Pokke Farm with information about how they work and what sorts of items you can gather there. If you want to learn more about Trenya and his Hunt quests at the Pokke Farm scroll all the way to the bottom - that is where I talk about him.

Garden & Field Rows

One of the gathering areas that is available to you from the very start of the game is the garden. You only start with a single row but you can expand to 3 rows in total. To plant a seed or fertilize the garden you'll need to interact with the cat that roams around the area. What you can harvest from this garden depends on what you plant in it. Fertilizing one of the rows will result in more yields when you harvest it.

Planting Items: Antidote Herb, Armor Seed, Green Seed, Herb, Hot Pepper, Huskberry, Needleberry, Paintberry, Power Seed, Red Seed, Sleep Herb, Yellow Seed (MHFU-Exclusive)

Potential Harvests: Armor Seed,Power Seed, Bomberry, Cactus Flower, Cricket, Dosbiscus, Dragon Seed, Felvine, Fire Herb, Green Seed, Herb, Hot Pepper, Huskberry, Ivy, Paintberry, Power Seed, Red Seed, Sap Plant, Scatternut, Sleep Herb, Sunset Herb, Yellow Seed, Giant Corn (MHFU), Worm

Fishing Pier

As you can probably deduce from the name, at the Fishing Pier you are able to fish. You can fish 3 times at the start and you get an additional 3 attempts each time you upgrade the pier for a total of 9. Each time you upgrade the pier you also make it longer and unlock additional locations to fish from.

The Springnight Carp is a Fishing Pier exclusive fish which is used in some armor combines. Each of the 3 Fishing Piers have fish that are exclusive to that pier; a Springnight Carp can be caught from all 3 Fishing Piers.

Fishing Pier: Knife Mackerel, Pin Tuna, Rumblefish, Sleepyfish, Small Goldenfish, Springnight Carp, Sushifish

Fishing Pier +1: Bomb Arrowana, Burst Arrowana, Pin Tuna, Rumblefish, Scatterfish, Sleepyfish, Small Goldenfish, Springnight Carp

Fishing Pier +2: Bomb Arrowana, Burst Arrowana, Scatterfish, Small Goldenfish, Springnight Carp

You can also unlock the Casting Machine too once you complete Secret Request: Hypnocatrice from Nekoht's Quests. This will cost you a total of 6000 Pokke Points to unlock and you can catch all of the fish mentioned above as well as the following fish.

Casting Machine Fish: Ancient Fish, Speartuna, Tailed Frog (MHFU Exclusive), Plesioth Scale, Green Plesioth Scale

Insect Thicket

Like the name suggests, the Insect Thicket is where you'll be able to catch insects. Unlike during hunts you will not need a Bugnet to catch the insects at this location. Each time you upgrade the ticket you'll expand the loot table of bugs that you can catch here; each upgrade allows you to catch rarer bugs.

Below is a list of all the bugs you can catch at each of the Insect Thickets.

Insect Thicket: Spiderweb, Cricket, Worm, Firefly, Insect Husk, Yambug, Bughopper, Bitterbug, Flashbug, Carpenterbug

Insect Thicket +1: Worm, Godbug, Bitterbug, Flashbug, Thunderbug, Carpenterbug, Killer Beetle, Great Hornfly, Great Ladybug, Vespoid Wing, Hornetaur Wing

Insect Thicket +2: Mega Fishing Fly, Godbug, Flashbug, Thunderbug, King Scarab, Killer Beetle, Hercudrome, Great Hornfly, Great Ladybug, Vespoid Shell, Hornetaur Shell

Insect Thicket +4 (MHFU Exclusive): Phantom Butterfly, King Scarab, Emperor Cricket, Vespoid RazorWing, Hornetaur RazorWing, Hornetaur Carapace, Vespoid Carapace, Flashbug

Later on in the game you can unlock the Bug Tree which is a mini game that allows you to get even more bugs. Talk to the cat in the back of the farm standing next to the tree and pay him 300z to swing a hammer at the tree. You get to pick the color of the hammer and depending on what color you pick it increases your odds of getting rare bugs.

The goal of this mini game is to press the X button right when the white charge goes off. One thing to note is if you're not good at timing it - it's better to press X too soon rather than too late. Pressing it too late will result in you getting basically nothing. Just like all of the other things at Pokke Farm the loot you get is determined by how far you've progressed into the game and what other Insect Thickets you've unlocked.

Below is a list of all the loot you can get from the Bug Tree mini game and also what the various hammers do.

White Cat Hammer: Great for beginners but not many rare bugs.
Black Cat Hammer: You get at least one rare bug with this hammer, it's the middle of the road as far as difficulty to use.
Gold Cat Hammer: Hard to use but almost all of the bugs you get will be rare.

White Cat Hammer Loot: Godbug, Bitterbug, Flashbug, Carpenterbug, King Scarab, Killer Beetle, Hercudrome, Rare Scarab, Vespoid Wing, Vespoid Shell, Hornetaur Wing, Hornetaur Shell, Huskberry, Power Seed, Armor Seed, Scatternut

Black Cat Hammer Loot: Mega Fishing Fly, Yambug, Bughopper, Godbug, Bitterbug, Flashbug, Thunderbug, Carpenterbug, King Scarab, Killer Beetle, Hercudrome, Rare Scarab, Rainbow Insect, Great Hornfly, Great Ladybug, Vespoid Wing, Vespoid Shell, Vespoid InnrWing, Hornetaur Wing, Hornetaur Shell, Hornetaur InnrWing, Huskberry, Power Seed, Armor Seed

Gold Cat Hammer Loot: Insect Husk, Yambug, Bughopper, Thunderbug, Emperor Cricket, Rare Scarab, Rainbow Insect, Great Hornfly, Great Ladybug, Vespoid Wing, Vespoid Shell, Vespoid InnrWing, Vespoid RazorWing, Hornetaur Wing, Hornetaur Shell, Hornetaur Crapce, HornetaurInnrWing, Hornetaur RazorWing, Power Seed, Armor Seed, Phantom Butterfly

Mining Points

Along the rock wall of the Pokke Farm you'll find a mining point that lets you harvest it for resources. This location works more or less the same as the Insect Thicket; meaning that you don't need an item to harvest the resources from here. Like the Insect Thicket too, each time you upgrade this location with Pokke Points you'll expand the loot table and be able to collect rarer resources.

From my experience you will end up with so many different minerals and ore that you'll often be selling the excess that you have. Below are the materials you can expect to get from the various Mining Points that you can unlock for the Pokke Farm. Each Mining Point has a different loot list and sometimes items on the list aren't dropped until you progress far enough into the game to get them normally from hunts.

Mining Point: Whetstone, Stone, Disk Stone, Iron Ore, Earth Crystal, Machalite Ore, Ice Crystal, Armor Stone, Armor Sphere, Suiko Jewel

Mining Point +1: Disk Stone, Iron Ore, Earth Crystal, Machalite Ore, Dragonite Ore, Light Crystal, Ice Crystal, Armor Stone, Armor Sphere, Armor Sphere+, Suiko Jewel, Akito Jewel, Battlefield Jewel

Mining Point +2: Earth Crystal, Iron Ore, Machalite Ore, Dragonite Ore, Carbalite Ore, Light Crystal, Rainbow Ore, Armor Sphere+, Hrd Armor Sphere, Akito Jewel, Battlefield Jewel

Mining Point +3: Earth Crystal, Machalite Ore, Dragonite Ore, Carbalite Ore, Union Ore, Nova Crystal, Rainbow Ore, Hard Armor Sphere, Battlefield Jewel, Lapis Lazuli Jewel

Mining Point +4 (MHFU Exclusive): Royal Armor Sphere, Heavy Armor Sphere, Hard Armor Sphere, Pure Crystal, Mellanje Ore, Eltalite Ore, Lapis Lazuli Jewel

In addition to the Mining Points mentioned above you will also be able to mine with explosives. Speak with the cat standing next to the cave entrance and you will be able to give him a bomb which he'll use inside the cave. The type of bomb you use determines how many and what items you will get from the mining. Much like with the Mining Points you will only get high level ore if you've progressed far enough into the game to collect it normally.

Key: Type of Bomb (# of Loot): Items on the loot table

Small Barrel Bomb (2-3): Rainbow Ore, Machalite

Small Barrel Bomb+ (4-5): Armor Stone, Union Ore, Dragonite Ore, Lightcrystal

Large Barrel Bomb (8-9): Disk Stone, Dragonite Ore, Iron Ore, Armor Sphere, Eltalite Ore, Machalite Ore

Large Barrel Bomb+ (8-9): Earth Crystal, Dragonite Ore, Rainbow Ore, Ice Crystal, Iron Ore, Eltalite Ore, Machalite Ore, Ryl Armor Sphere, Mellanje Ore, Lightcrystal, Pure Crystal, Tru Armor Sphere, Armor Sphere+, Armor Stone, Hrd Armor Sphere, Carbalite Ore

Bounce Bomb (3-4): Earth Crystal, Machalite Ore, Battlefield Jewel, Rainbow Ore

Bounce Bomb+ (7-8): Lightcrystal, Earth Crystal, Union Ore, Dragonite Ore, Armor Stone, Iron Ore

Mushroom Tree

The Mushroom tree area is unlocked by spending Pokke Points and renovating your farm. As the name suggests, you'll be able to gather various mushrooms which can be used in crafting recipes at this location. Each upgrade that you purchase increases how many mushrooms you can harvest and which mushrooms you can harvest. All in all this is one of the more basic gathering stations at the Pokke Farm.

Key: Rank of Tree (# of Loot): Items on the loot table

Mushroom Tree (3-4): Blue Mushroom, Parashroom, Toadstool, Chaoshroom

Mushroom Tree+1 (5-6): Blue Mushroom, Parashroom, Toadstool, Chaoshroom, Nitroshroom, Exciteshroom

Mushroom Tree+2 (7-8): Blue Mushroom, Parashroom, Toadstool, Chaoshroom, Nitroshroom, Exciteshroom, Dragon Toadstool

Bee Hive

Like the Mushroom Tree this gathering station is very straight forward. Each time you purchase a new upgrade you will get able to gather more items and you'll also have a higher chance of getting what you want instead of getting garbage. There is nothing else that is unique or special about this station, it gives Honey and that's about it.

Key: Rank of Hive (# of Loot): Items on the loot table

Prototype Beehive (2-3): Honey, Insect Husk and Snakebee Larva

Production Beehive (3-4): Honey, Insect Husk and Snakebee Larva

Modified Beehive (5-6): Honey and Snakebee Larva

Great Sword Cave

Shortly into the game you will gain access to the cave in the back of the Pokke Farm with a giant broken sword inside of it. You are able to use two Elder Dragon Bones to mine the giant sword. Each session you can mine the sword two or three times and one of those items will always be a Dark Piece. The other items have a 60% chance of being a Dark Piece or a 40% chance of being a Dark Stone.

All in all this cave is as straight forward as you can possibly get and there isn't much else that can be said.

Trenya's Hunt Missions

Trenya Hunt Missions

The final and most unique aspect of the Pokke Farm is Trenya's Hunt missions. You will unlock Trenya pretty early in the game but you will only be able to access the 200 point missions when he's first unlocked. As you progress through the game you will be able to run higher tier missions at Trenya which will cost more Pokke Points but give you access to more items.

How this works is you can send Trenya to basically any map that you've already visited and done some missions on. This includes the Desert, Snowy Mountains, Jungle and Swamp in the first tier. Normally these locations are unlocked first with Forest & Hills, Great Forest and Volcano unlocked after.

Many of the items Trenya can find for you are rare items that you can find on each of these maps. Basically, this is just another way to get those items since this game requires such an excessive amount of grinding. If you'd like to see all of the items you can get via Trenya's Hunts follow the links below to be taken to pages that have information about each area type.
