Final Fantasy II, also known as Final Fantasy II in North America, is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square Enix. It was originally released for the Famicom (Nintendo Entertainment System) in Japan in 1988, and later released for various platforms, including the PlayStation, Game Boy Advance, PlayStation Portable, and mobile devices. The game follows the story of four young heroes who embark on a quest to save the world from an evil empire. Players control a party of characters as they journey through a vast fantasy world, battle enemies in turn-based combat, and engage in a wide range of quests and adventures.

One notable aspect of Final Fantasy II is its unique leveling system, which differs from the traditional experience points (EXP) and levels system found in many other RPGs. In this game, character stats improve based on the actions they perform in battle. For example, using a certain weapon repeatedly will increase the character's proficiency with that weapon, while taking damage will increase their HP. This innovative system was a departure from the standard RPG mechanics of the time and brought a new level of customization and flexibility to character progression. Final Fantasy II also introduced a character-driven narrative with a focus on character development and relationships, which was a departure from the more linear story of the original Final Fantasy.
