Contract: Patrol Gone Missing - Velen

This quest is started one of two ways, you can speak with Quartermaster Eggbracht directly (pictured above) or accept the notice from the Nilfgaardian Army Group Center Camp Notice Board.

When you arrive at the first quest marker on your map you'll want to use your Witcher Senses to check out the area. Boot prints lead away from the camp that you will want to follow them all the way up the hill side along the path until you run into a Wyvern (pictured below). This is the trophy monster for the quest, but not the end of the quest.

In the same area you fight the Wyvern (the location shown in the screen shot below) you'll find some more bodies to search. These will lead you due east to a ghouls nest which is also a cave. The entrance becomes a marker on your map. Inside of the cave you will find more bodies, not Nilfgaardian soldiers. That's all you need to do here, return to camp.

Refusing payment from the commander when turning in the quest will reward you with more EXP. There is another quest by the name of Blood Ties that changes depending on whether or not you investigated the bodies after killing the Wyvern and went into the cave.

If you did investigate the bodies in the cave then the commander will be upset with you and you will have to either bribe or use Axii on the commander for Blood Ties.
