Xenogears developed and published by Squaresoft, was released on October 20, 1998. Players assume the role of Fei Fong Wong, a martial arts teacher with amnesia, who gets caught in a conflict involving giant mechanized robots called Gears. As Fei embarks on a journey to uncover his past and confront the organization responsible for his village's destruction, players traverse a richly detailed world, engaging in both character-based and Gear-based battles.
