Aeris's Great Gospel Limit Break - FF7 Walkthrough
This quest must be completed before you access Temple of the Ancients and make it to Disc 2. If you've already accessed the Temple of the Ancients than Aeris will never be able to learn her Great Gospel Limit Break. Since Aeries won't always be with your party this isn't that big of a deal, however if you're trying to get a Ps4 or Steam Trophy, you'll need to go out of your way to complete this task.
To start you'll want to get in your Buggy and ride it back to Junon. To do this you'll have to ride it into Costa del Sol then take the boat back to Junon, if you do this then when you leave Junon you'll have your Buggy with you. North of Fort Condor you'll find a river which you can cross with the Buggy. On this piece of land you'll find a cave, shown in the screen shot above. If you need help finding this location then use my map location below.
Inside of this cave there'll be a man who tells you a random statistic about your current game. To get the item we need, Mythril, you'll need to have the amount of battles you've fought to end in the same number and be odd. So, for example you'll need to have fought 99, 111, 133, 155 or any combination that ends with two of the same odd numbers.
When you speak to him he isn't always going to mention to you how many battles you've fought, enter and exit the cave to change his dialogue. Once you've fought the correct amount of battles he'll give you a Mythril which is what we came here for.
Note: While you're in this area it would be a good time to swing by Fort Condor and complete the mission that is currently available (if you haven't already).
If you want to also pick up a Bolt Ring (Nullifies Lightning Attacks) from the same guy who gives you the Mythril, instead of getting an odd number you'll want to do an even number. So, 144, 166, 122, any combination like that will get you the Bolt Ring.
Get back in the Buggy and return to the Gold Saucer area, our next stop is a small building on an outcropping of land between here and Gongaga. If you're having trouble locating this place use the map on the screen shot above. Inside this building you'll meet a guy who tells you about the Keystone (item you need for Temple of the Ancients and part of the main story) and he'll also talk about his weapon shop.
Select the "Change the Subject" option and he'll ask you for some Mythril, give it to him then he'll tell you that you can choose between a big and a small box and walk away. Ignore the first large box he opens - that has a Gold Armlet in it and is a total waste. You'll want to open the small box on the second floor of this building for the Great Gospel Limit Break.
