How To Raise An Ultimate Digimon - Digimon World 1
Raising Digimon is one of the primary gameplay loops of Digimon World and it can be quite daunting for new players. There is no instruction or direction provided to you ingame which means it is really easy to make a mistake during this process and end up with a Digimon that is nearly useless (Numemon or a Sukamon).
Unfortunately, the cost of ending up with a useless Digimon is high too since there is no way to easily get rid of it outside of forcing it to lose 3 battles in a row and die. Doing this will cost you Tamer EXP though as well, so it's not the best solution either. The best thing to do with a Numemon or a Sukamon is to use them to farm items or certain Digimon which I talk about in my Walkthrough Chapter 1.
My goal with this guide is to help people who don't care about learning the mechanics of Digivolution. If all you care about is getting an Ultimate Digimon every time, I will tell you the exact routes to follow for each Egg that will get you an Ultimate. Before we dive into the meat of the guide, there are two things I need to explain.
In order for you to properly use this guide, you must understand the requirement(s) for Digivolution. To Digivolve you need to meet 3 of 4 requirements; these are Stats, Weight, Care Mistakes and Bonus Criteria. We'll learn more about Bonus Criteria below, before we get there let's learn about Care Mistakes.
Care Mistakes:
1. Letting your Digimon poop on the ground
2. Not feeding your Digimon when it is hungry
3. Not letting your Digimon sleep
Nothing else is counted as a Care Mistake. It's important you know about Care Mistakes because we need to avoid causing them or to purposefully cause them depending on which route we choose below. Some Digimon will need 15+ Care Mistakes and others will need less than 5.
While on the topic of Care Mistakes, if you let your Digimon poop on the ground too many times and their "Vir." bar becomes full - they change into Sukamon. If this happens you can visit Trash Mountain and talk with King Sukamon to get them changed back, but you should avoid it happening.
Below you will find information about each of the four Digimon Eggs and what path(s) you can follow with each of them.
Tips & Tricks:
- For Baby/In-training Digimon focus on raising all stats to 100 and HP/MP. Once you get to Rookie you will want to start taking them down their selective paths.
- If you need to raise Happiness to meet a requirement just spam "Praise" on your Digimon. The same is true for Weight, either feed them extra or less depending on what they need. I'd recommend force feeding the best food possible since it will decrease Happiness by the least.
- Scolding your Digimon can be used to increase their Discipline gauge as well.
- If your Digimon refuses to take an item from you, Scold it and then try again.
Green Spotted Egg
You will start with Botamon who Digivolves into Koromon. This egg is my favorite to pick when I am just starting out with a new game. I find it very easy to evolve Agumon into Meramon then turn Meramon into Andromon. The skill Andromon comes with (the AoE metal attack) is also very powerful when fighting multiple targets.
Agumon (Rookie)
Care Mistakes: N/A
Body Weight: 10 to 20
Stats: Raise HP, MP & Offense
Bonus: Automatically fulfilled
Meramon (Champion)
Care Mistakes: More than 5
Body Weight: 15 to 25
Stats: Offense 100+
Bonus: More than 10 Battles; more than 28 Techniques
Andromon (Ultimate)
Care Mistakes: 5 or less
Body Weight: 35 to 45
Stats: HP 2000, MP 4000, Offense 200, Defense 400, Speed 200 and Brains 400
Bonus: More than 30 Battles; 95% Discipline or greater; Over 30 Techniques
Blue Lined Egg
This egg begins with Punimon who will Digivolve into Tsunomon once you train and a few days passes. Your first real choice with this egg will be between Penguinmon and Elecmon. I personally like the Penguinmon path more so that's what I am going to be recommending here.
Penguinmon (Rookie)
Care Mistakes: N/A
Body Weight: 10 to 20
Stats: Raise MP, Defense and Brains
Bonus: Automatically fulfilled
Frigimon (Champion)
Care Mistakes: 5 or Under
Body Weight: 25 to 35
Stats: Mp 1000 and Brains 100
Bonus: Above 50% Happiness; Over 28 Techniques
After Frigimon you have two different routes which are achieved more or less the same way. For Mamemon you need 15 or more Care Mistakes and 5-10kg of weight; for Metal Mamemon you need 15 or less Care Mistakes and about 10kg of weight. The stats required for both are more or less the same, although Mamemon has slightly easier stat requirements.
Your main focus will be on the Care Mistakes, with Mamemon you let him poop on the ground constantly and don't feed him as much. Balancing his Happiness with Care Mistakes will be the hard part. I personally find it easier to get Metal Mamemon for this reason, but ultimately the choice is yours.
Mamemon (Ultimate)
Care Mistakes: Need 15 or more
Body Weight: 0 to 10
Stats: Offense 400, Defense 300, Speed 300 and Brains 400
Bonus: Happiness Gauge 90% or better; 25 Techniques or more
Metal Mamemon (Ultimate)
Care Mistakes: 15 or less
Body Weight: 5 to 15
Stats: Offense 500, Defense 400, Speed 400 and Brains 400
Bonus: Happiness Gauge 95% or better & 30 Techniques
Orange/Yellow Lined Egg
Your first Digimon with this egg is a Poyomon and it will Digivolve into a Tokomon. The next 3 Digimon I recommend you get are Vaccine type which makes them perfect for doing the Ice Palace Freezeland Dungeon for Angemon. I like to go with Biyomon then to Unimon and finally you'll end up with Giromon at the very end.
Biyomon (Rookie)
Care Mistakes: N/A
Body Weight: 10 to 20
Stats: Raise MP, Defense & Speed
Bonus: Automatically fulfilled
Unimon (Champion)
Care Mistakes: 2 to 3 at most
Body Weight: 25 to 35
Stats: HP 1000 and Speed 100
Bonus: More than 10 Battles; more than 35 Techniques
Giromon (Ultimate)
Care Mistakes: 15+
Body Weight: 0 to 10
Stats: Offense 400, Speed 300 and Brains 400
Bonus: Happiness Gauge is 95% or better; 100+ Battles; 35+ Techniques
Pink Spotted Egg
When you first get this egg your Digimon will be Yuramon, he'll become Tanemon next. For our next transformation we can go with either Palmon or Betamon, both of them are acceptable for us since they allow us to become Whamon which is what we want. I am going to list the requirements for both Palmon and Betamon and let you choose which you'd like.
Palmon (Rookie)
Care Mistakes: N/A
Body Weight: 10 to 20
Stats: Raise MP, Speed & Brains
Bonus: Automatically fulfilled
Betamon (Rookie)
Care Mistakes: N/A
Body Weight: 10 to 20
Stats: Raise HP, MP & Defense
Bonus: Automatically fulfilled
Whamon (Champion)
Care Mistakes: Under 5
Body Weight: 35 to 45
Stats: 1000 HP and 100 Brains
Bonus: Discipline Gauge at 60%; 28 Techniques
Both of the Ultimate Digimon that Whamon transforms into are easy to get, so I will list them both.
Mega Seadramon (Ultimate)
Care Mistakes: Under 5
Body Weight: 25 to 35
Stats: 4000 MP, 500 Offense, 400 Defense, 400 Brains
Bonus: Zero Battles; 40 Techniques
Mamemon (Ultimate)
Care Mistakes: Need 15 or more
Body Weight: 0 to 10
Stats: Offense 400, Defense 300, Speed 300 and Brains 400
Bonus: Happiness Gauge 90% or better; 25 Techniques or more
