Mini Medals Location & Guide - Dragon Quest 5
Throughout the world of Dragon Quest V you'll find Mini Medals, they can be found in many towns and dungeons as well as drops from certain enemies. For those who have played another DQ game you're probably already familiar with how this quest works since it's part of almost every game in the series.
Basically, the Mini Medals that you find can be turned in for some of the best equipment in the entire game at Dominicus' Dominion (pictured above & below). This island is found on the southern most landmass on the World Map and can also be a good location to grind EXP since Metal Slimes can spawn here (along with Cureslimes).
You'll gain access to this island after getting married and acquiring a ship from Mr. Briscoletti but you won't have enough Mini Medals to purchase the really good stuff until later in the game.

There are a total of 61 Mini Medals in the game that you can find from towns or dungeons; which isn't enough to purchase all of the items for sale at King Dominicus. If you want to purchase all of the available Mini Medal items what you'll need to do is farm monsters that have a chance of dropping them.
Mimics have a 100% chance of dropping a Mini Medal but there is no reliable way to farm them. Cannibox, Frighturn, Urnexpected sometimes drop Mini Medals (1/8th chance) but there isn't any reliable way to farm these enemies either. Admirer, Liquid Metal Slime, Metal Slime Knight and Wrecktor rarely drop Mini Medals.
Admirer: Riteof Passage, Stairway to Zenithia & Mt. Zugzwang
Out of the aforementioned enemies Admirer is the best one to farm and the best dungeon to farm them is arguably in Riteof Passage (pictured below). You'll find this dungeon northeast of Gotha Castle and you may remember this dungeon from when you were doing the trial to become king.
Since this dungeon is lower level than the other places Admirer can spawn it means you'll be able to get more kills per hour while here. One of the other reasons I like this zone is because you can also get Liquid Metal Slimes to spawn here which are both good EXP as well as a 1 in 64 chance to drop a Mini Medal as well.
Admirer are one of the easier enemies to farm for Mini Medals.

#02 Coburg Castle: Found in a pot just before the room with the Warp Portal (off the courtyard)
#03 Lodestar Harbour: Top of Lighthouse, inside cupboard.
#04 Lodestar Harbour: To the right of the church, hidden in flowers.
#05 Hay: Small House; pot inside of it.
#06 Hay: Large House; pot upstairs.
#07 Scary Lair: First floor, next to the Skeleton on the ground. It sparkles.
#08 Zoomingale: Pot upstairs inside of the Inn.
#09 Zoomingale: To the right of the church, pot in open area.
#10 Scuttlebutt: Bottom of well in front of the church.
#11 Tunnel to Mostroferrato: In the southeastern (bottom right) corner of the area.
#12 Mostroferrato: Across from the inn, small house inside of drawers.
#13 Stockenbarrel: Under the inn inside of the bar Barrel in the east (right) corner.
#14 Stockenbarrel: Inspect the gravestone on the right.
#15 Ventuno Casino: Enclosed stairwell, barrel in the corner.

#23 Bettenberg: Under the weapon shop in the left room, found in a barrel.
#24 Gotha Pass: In treasure chest on 9th Floor.

#29 Gotha Pass: Answer 'No' when the man on the outside ledge asks you if you've lost all 3 items. Alternatively, only answer 'yes' to his second question asking about the Mini Medal.
#30 Gotha Pass: Mimic treasure chest on 8th Floor.
#31 Gotha: Balcony of Hero's bedroom.
#32 Gotha: Bathroom on 2nd Floor inside of cabinet.
