Quest #117 Engaging the Sage - Gittingham Palace

Quest Requirements: Defeat Atlas with the Sage's Zam spell

Quest Pre-Requirements: Level 40+ Sage and Side Quest #116 Complete

Reward: Sage's Scripture and Twocus Pocus Ability

This quest begins in the same location that you visited to unlock the Sage vocation and complete Side Quest #116, the bookshelf in Gittingham Palace. If you've already beaten the game there won't be any enemies in this spot anymore which makes things a bit easier. If you've forgotten how to get here I recommend using my Sage Class Unlock Quest Guide for more information.

For this quest you'll need to complete grottos until you get an ogre named Atlas (screenshot below) as a boss. He'll only appear in mid level grottos and in my experience he is a fairly common boss to run into. As you may have already guessed, this quest works a lot like #116 before it.

Atlas has about 7000 health (give or take a few hundred) so you'll want to deal about 6200 - 6300 damage to him prior to using the Sage's Zam spell on him. If you'd like to make things a bit easier you can also increase the damage output of Zam by using Channel Anger (Mage ability).
