Quest #001 One Good Turn - Angel Falls

Quest Requirements: Bring Questella a Tangleweb from nearby Angel Falls

Reward: Sleeping Hibiscus

This is the very first sidequest that's available to you in Dragon Quest 9. As the screen shot above shows it begins in the first town, Angel Falls by speaking to a young girl just outside of the church. For this quest all you need to do is travel to a large spider web just north of Angel Falls and pick up an item called Tangleweb.

If you're having trouble finding this item, it's shown on my map in the screen shot below. Once you have this item return to this little girl and give it to here to complete the quest.
