D-Pad:

Up: Accelerate
Down: Brake/Reverse
Left/Right: Steer kart

A Button:

Hold down for drift, then release to get a speed boost
Use an item if acquired

B Button: Hop/jump over obstacles or other players
L: Hold down to use item in reserve
R: Hold down to view map
Start Button: Pause game, show game menu
Select Button: Change map view (on map screen)
