D-Pad: Move Ryu around
A: Talk to characters, examine objects
B: Open Menu
L: Change Formation (in party mode)
R: Change Formation (in party mode)
Select: Change view (in some areas)

 

Battle:

D-Pad: Move cursor, select commands
A: Confirm selections, attack
B: Cancel selections, run
L: Not used
R: Not used
Select: Not used

 

Ryu's Transformations:

Dragon: Press A + B + R when Ryu's Dragon Gauge is full
Kaiser: Press A + B + R when Ryu's Dragon Gauge is full and Ryu is at level 60 or higher

Nina's Transformations:

Bird: Press A + B + R when Nina's Bird Gauge is full
Great Bird: Press A + B + R when Nina's Bird Gauge is full and Nina is at level 60 or higher

Rand's Transformation:

Ox: Press A + B + R when Rand's Ox Gauge is full
Warriox: Press A + B + R when Rand's Ox Gauge is full and Rand is at level 60 or higher

Sten's Transformation:

Weretiger: Press A + B + R when Sten's Gauge is full
Death: Press A + B + R when Sten's Gauge is full and Sten is at level 60 or higher

Jean's Transformation:

Plant: Press A + B + R when Jean's Plant Gauge is full
Battle: Press A + B + R when Jean's Plant Gauge is full and Jean is at level 60 or higher

Note: The A, B, and R buttons must be pressed simultaneously to activate the transformations.
