Controls

D-Pad: Move Yoshi
A: Jump
B: Throw egg
L: Flutter jump (hold)
R: View inventory
Select: Switch item in inventory
Start: Pause game

In addition to these basic controls, Yoshi has several unique abilities in this game, such as his ability to swallow enemies to create eggs and his flutter jump that allows him to stay in the air for longer periods of time. The controls also vary slightly depending on the type of level being played (e.g. traditional platforming levels vs. levels where Yoshi transforms into different vehicles or creatures).
