Old Bloodfields - SoD Leveling Guide
The Old Bloodfields is a zone that was added in the Seeds of Destruction expansion and should not be confused with the Omens of War zone of a similar name. This version of Bloodfields is good for players 85+ and could arguably take you all the way to level 100 if you wanted to push it. The enemies here will be light blue still at 100.
As you can see from my map above I have two different locations marked. The northern most one is a light blue circle which is the easiest camp in the entire zone. You can pull singles to the wall that's here without worrying much about adds or named enemies. There is one named that spawns in this area, Kyris.
Kyris can be avoided if you manage to spawn her since as you can see from my map above she has a tendancy to spawn a ways out into the field. It's unlikely you'll commonly be pulling from this far anyway (and if you are I would recommend you move to a different camp or zone).
Two additional tips you may want to keep in mind is that only the Kyv enemies summon and *everything* runs. That makes hunting here without snare a real pain in the rear! If you plan to hunt in this zone awhile you may want to accept the task from Commander Prezul in the northwestern portion of this zone.
Commander Prezul gives you tasks which require you to kill 20 of each type of enemy you find in this zone. All of them are fairly easy to complete except the Ikaav task... which was usually the last one I managed to complete each time I ran the tasks.
The other camp in this zone that I have spent some time at is the area just to the south of the previous camp I talked about. Where you see the small orange circle at on my map above. There's a bunch more enemies here than up above and they're usually grouped together in pairs of two or three.
I can only recommend this southern camp to you if you're in a group or a 5/6 boxer. This fields pretty tough but quite rewarding as far as EXP goes. There's a single named that spawns down here, Pherin the Traitor. He spawns pretty far south in the field though so it's unlikely you'll see him unless your group is good enough to handle the whole area.
As far as the loot goes in this zone you'll want to hang on to the gems you come across as well as the Rk. II spells (which usually vendor for over 300pp each)! In addition to the vendor trash you'll want to loot the Chronal Resonance Dust, Sunshard Ore and Taaffeite, Prestidigitase, Harmonagate, Staurolite you come across. These can all be sold in The Bazaar or to Barters by typing /bar.
Additional Information
- In order to reach this zone you'll need to go through The Void which can be reached from Plane of Time. There's two easy ways to reach Plane of Time, the Guild Hall portal or a Wizard/Druid. Or you could speak with the NPC in PoK that ports you here, Herald of Druzzil Ro. If you're unfamiliar with any of what I just said, use my guide on how to reach SoD zones.
- There are quests in each of the different SoD discord/kuua zones that are part of the Dark Soul Crystal quest line. If you complete them all they'll reward you with an extremely powerful aug for this expansion pack, Dark Soul Crystal.
- If you're having trouble managing your Inventory Space I highly recommend you invest in some Extraplanar Trade Satchels which are 32 Slot Tradeskill Bags. Alternatively you could also buy Unexpanded Tailored Backpacks as well. Though, the Backpacks will likely be more expensive. Follow the links provided to learn more about each item.
- If you need more plat while leveling I strongly recommend you check out my How to make more plat while leveling by Bartering Guide. It'll give you a list of all the different items you should be keeping an eye out for to Barter/Sell!
